The Beer on the Wye Festival in Herefordshire saw a huge increase in attendees this year and was unable to keep up, completely running out of beer.
A message on event's website said: 'In spite of a large re-order of beer, cider and perry on Saturday afternoon, Beer on the Wye has been drunk completely dry.'
A festival organiser said they had 1,053 gallons of beer, 300 gallons of cider and perry and bottles of foreign beers on hand for the event and they were actually worried that they'd ordered too much.

Loving the comments on the Daily Mail story. They inevitably turn a light-hearted piece into further evidence this country's going down the pan.
"GREAT -anything that inconveniences the large Brewers -who are very much part of the problem with dissappearing pubs -the better. This govt is of course the major destroyers of pubs-anyone would think they dont like traditional English pubs!!"
"Pretty typical for the heavy drinkers y'all have there in Britain. Maybe you should *stay* dry for a bit, eh?"
