Though early indications suggested Palin was being offered an opportunity from Fox News Channel, today Fox News' Richard White told ABC News, "Fox News Channel has had no discussions with Gov. Sarah Palin."
Palin is being represented by Washington, D.C., lawyer and agent Bob Barnett, who has made millions for other famous politicians after they left office, like former president Bill Clinton. The Alaska governor will not make decisions about any offers on the table until she officially leaves office at the end of the month.
Meantime, today -- bombarded with questions about what will follow her decision to resign -- Palin has gone fishing.
Palin, a Republican, has been out of public view since revealing her decision to step down. After Friday's surprise announcement, Palin made a brief stop at the Fourth of July parade in Juneau Saturday, then headed out to rural Alaska to visit local Alaskan Native villages and to do some commercial fishing with her husband Todd and family on Bristol Bay.
It's unclear exactly when Palin got there and when she will return. Palin posted a message on Twitter Sunday saying she was anxious to join her family for a day of "slaying salmon."
The tweet added little to her announcement outside her Wasilla home Friday. "It hurts to make this choice but I am doing what's best for Alaska," she said then. "I've explained why."
But the why is at the heart of the lingering questions about Palin. Why did she make the decision to leave her position before her first term is complete and what will she do next?
Palin Talked to Prominent Republicans In Weeks Before Announcement
Before her announcement, Palin spoke privately with some prominent Republicans -- including former Vice President Dick Cheney and former mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

could you possibly imagine that this is a prelude to a run for the US Senate?
could you possibly imagine it's not ????

Could I possibly imagine that Mrs. Palin would decide to work her tail off during her remaining time in office so that she could salvage at least SOME dignity in the face of perfectly legitimate accusations that she is a quitter.
Her comment that one of the reasons she was leaving was that she did not want to serve as a lame duck governor for the remaining two years of her term in office was one of the most dishonorable statements I have ever heard from a sitting governor. Literally hundreds of governors have found themselves in the position of being a so-called "lame duck." Almost without exception, they remained at their posts in accordance with the promises they had made to the electorate when elected, despite their reduced power.
The comment did not get a lot of fanfare when she made it, but I felt that any hope she made have had for a continued career in politics evaporated at that point. I cannot imagine her getting through the Republican primaries with that anchor around her neck.
Any governor or former governor on the Republican side would fillet her in a debate -- Hell, even George BUSH had enough honor to serve out his term as a lame duck. If Palin cannot even measure up to the standards of the worst President in the history of the republic, she is going NOWHERE in the national political arena in 2012...

If there is a low profile federal criminal investigation
now being conducted in the background, the tip on which was leaked recently re: credible allegations of embezzelment. And given that is so, and corruption charges filed with Palin Indicted..,the Saracuda will have beaucoup opportunities well enough. The opportunity to be quagmired in yet another scandal involving malfeasance in public office, the opportunity to do time, and (oh, how I wish) the opportunity to wear a zoot suit. That was one of the better customs of the prison population from older times. The inescapable humility that stems from wearing a prison uniform resembling a zebra. No rascist badge of honor as a rite of passage for gang members. No Mafia immunity from being rubbed out and sleeping with the fishes. Simply the standard message that crime doesn't pay. Politicians seem to presume they're above common Justice, and Palin has to be the most notorious Neo Con I've ever seen next to mad King George Dubya. Both of them give new meaning to the term inconscionable. Without malice, I claim this world is worse off so long as the wolf killa from Wasilla is the publicity hound & camera ho that she is. And worse off still considering the masses who pander to her childish manipulation of having them make her look like she's realy something worth valuing. When the last election proved her appeals to negative emotion, malicious slander per se, character assasination, and her pandering to hate mongering rednecks all marked her as the cheap sleezy hack disgrace she is. That people have glossed over her lack of character & integrity and treat her like some show biz /sports celebrity is beyond words. Time will tell whether she's free or simply at large, no ? -
Well, at least she still gets to kill things.
