Oh, Sweet Mother of the Most High (no, I'm not referring to sickinjersey's mum) Why can't we get this guy into office in 2012? Well, he makes too much sense- people would rather have an empty suit - inexperienced, all sizzle, no steak. Character and guts don't count when it comes to being President- only the ability to hoodwink the people. Paul has both- character and guts and if he doesn't run in 2012, I'll fall on my sword. But there's always Jindal - an Indian American (a minority) who is a Catholic (oh! the horror!) and a Republican- which is grounds for lynching, in the eyes of democrats, who believe all minorities owe their existence to the democrats, and therefore are to vote democrat (or risk being called an Uncle Tom) Why, for once, can't we have a president who makes sense, is not a textbook narcissist, and cares more about the direction this country is headed in, rather than his own personal quest for power? That's Ron Paul!! Keep stickin' it to The Man!

The man just wants you to be free, not enslaved into supply/demand side economics....he is tired of the debt slavery, the interventionist foreign policy, and the loss of civil liberties.

The actual article without the obligatory click through
it's just a Ron Paul generic 4th of july radio address. Nothing new here. Standard I'm totally awesome because the founding fathers all agreed with me stuff. Every BS legislator in Washington dropped one of these over the weekend I suspect.

bombastinator.....
How can every legislator be in line with the founding fathers ideals when none of them agree on the same thing?!? I just find it silly how everyone can claim the founding fathers stood for their ideals like you stated when they really only match with Dr. Paul's understanding of a free society overall. How can interventionist republicans and democrats even align themselves with the founding fathers.....they can't. Only 1 person CAN and that is Dr. Paul......I just find it silly to say that EVERY legislator is trying to sound like the founding fathers when only 1 of them truly does in practice.......furthermore....when did Dr. Paul say anything about being "totally awesome"? Just wondering why you think everybody else uses standard "founding father stuff" when none of the other candidates even brought it up and usually ignore the founding fathers and liberty?!?

I think Ron Paul understands and more importantly PRACTICES what he preaches. He continues to abide by his principles when pragmatism would be far easier. He understands INCENTIVE. This is the primary concept of economics. The government takes a dollar from all of us and gives nickel in return but promises if you give them another dollar they will do better. They will give you two nickels. This can continue indefinitely until either you have no more to give or you become aware of how little sense this redistribution of wealth makes. While we have every INCENTIVE to spend our money wisely government has little if any INCENTIVE to spend OTHER peoples money wisely. While citizens are rewarded for merit and punished for foolishness government grows in direct proportion to it's incompetence and forces this incompetence, via regulation, on its citizenry. He understands that a money based on good will, fiat money, is inherently unstable. We are bound to the rest of the world by our dollar. We are forced into PR wars with the rest of the world in order to maintain the value of the dollar. We must posture and strut regardless of how sick our economy is even when admission is necessary for recovery. We must put our trust in a few central bankers to make decisions that will effect the entire country. That somehow those few elite geniuses can make better decisions than the collective intelligence of hundreds of millions U.S. adults. I hope we learn these lessons while we still have a choice of how because I fear very soon only the most painful lessons will remain.
