Using hydrogen to power cars has become an increasingly attractive transportation fuel, as the only emission produced is water - but a major stumbling block is the lack of a cheap, renewable source of the fuel. Gerardine Botte of Ohio University may now have found the answer, using an electrolytic approach to produce hydrogen from urine - the most abundant waste on Earth - at a fraction of the cost of producing hydrogen from water.

To break the molecule down, a voltage of 0.37V needs to be applied across the cell - much less than the 1.23V needed to split water. Less voltage than to split Water, but electrolysis needed. Somehow every energy inherits Hydrogen as a base product; If the Nitrates could be removed too, a idea to follow, waste to energy.

yep this can work . this was one of the ways we made full cells to make hydrogen gas to fill paper balloons of UFO's in the 60's when i was kid in LA(bad kids we were fun stuff) but making electricity is not hard if you have the right items in your box making run a car at 80 mile and hour for more than 100 miles .. bring lots of Tea and sodas a long for the ride. hmm new use for the road side out houses i can see .

Actually I doubt this will get used sensibly for people's benefit.
The energy required to separate the hydrogen is only 0.37 volts which could easily be produced from renewable solar or wind energy while urine is obviously plentiful.
In order to receive the benefits of this commercially though it would have to be profitable for companies to do so, and that is unlikely.

Who previously when it was against the rules to piss in the machines..... you could see a line of people pissing in the machines at a factory...
Or someone stopping at the petrol station.. opening the fuel cap... and pissing into the tank XD
