40th Glastonbury is going to be 'a roll-call of all-time rock icons'
According to the Sun, the Eavis' want the festival's bill to made up exclusively of legends that have graced the stages there over the last four decades. The list of artists that have played at Glasto is nothing short of epic, with Oasis, Blur, The Smiths, New Order, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen only a few of the global superstars that have performed.
A source has said that: "Michael and Emily want to make next year's festival the most memorable ever..."They've got a number of ideas up their sleeves, but one they are already working on is getting past performers to play at the next bash... They've sent out feelers and have got a lot of positive feedback so far..."And if they manage to pull their plan off, then, without a shadow of a doubt, they will have one of the greatest musical bills ever put together in history."
Who would you want at the 40th Glastonbury?

First of all I would want to be at the 40th Glastonbury.
In terms of line up Bowie has to up there, I'm sure he would be phenomenal.
The Cure?
Then if your being silly why not get The Stone Roses and The Smith to reform just for a laugh.
If I can have 3 out of those 4 then I don't care who else is playing.
Actually I don't care who is playing full stop it's super.

Some of the best acts I've seen there would be..
Leonard Cohen, Bowie, McCartney, Brian Wilson, Pulp, Orbital, Chemical brothers, Roger Waters, Supergrass, Blur, Oasis, Radiohead, Primal Scream, Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, Spinal Tap, Kings of Leon, White Stripes, Bjork and The Verve.
if they could get that lot together as well as Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and Tom Waits that would be pretty neat.
Just please leave Springsteen out of it next time.

There's no point getting legends who have played previous years back again. There's no way you could choose just three to headline each night and end up offending some. Unfortunately, by my own rule that means I have to leave Bowie out (who did an epic set a few years ago),
Get The Rolling Stones, no matter how much it costs, Stevie Wonder and The Velvet Underground.
The Smiths would be great but there's no way they'd reunite.
Forget Bob Dylan - great musician but not enough of a live act now to carry off a Pyramid stage headline set on the 40th.
-
I'm only going if Dire Straits have the Sunday headline slot. A lot of the others don't really interest me, would be nice to see Clapton play as well.
Didn't the Rolling Stones do Bestival a couple of years ago? They might b an easy blag.
It seems lots of old bands and musicians are coming out of retirement recently, easy money??

Awesome!

Yeah, the Cure would be cool- Velvet Underground like Mr T said, and it would get personal if I could see the Chemical Brothers as well!
