First Fuel Cell Plane Flies in Germany

Image...
HAMBURG, Germany (AFP) – The world's first piloted aircraft capable of taking to the air using only power from fuel cells took off in Germany Tuesday, producing zero carbon dioxide emissions, its makers said....

...Developed by the DLR, Lange Aviation, BASF Fuel Cells and Denmark's Serenergy, the Antares DLR-H2 motor glider has a range of 750 kilometres (465 miles) and can fly for five hours.

What do you guys think if this zero-emission feat?

I think this is a good step toward alternate energies. But, it could take many, many more years before this technology is ever considered for commercial/military use.

Very good news another step closer zero emissions. I love hearing all the good news about head way we are making in alternative energy sources. However we can't even get people to embrace the idea of fuel cells in their cars. Planes would be an even harder sell to the masses,
