    Violence. Blood. Riot.

I wonder how widespread these protests will be. On one hand I hope they grow for the sake of human rights, but I wish the Chinese government wouldn't resort to just asserting their power on such a violent level.

Can someone please inform what is going on in China? I haven't been here in a while due to attending school full-time in a University (5 weeks to do 3 classes is not exactly easy). Any information would be really nice. :)

There is nothing more frustrating to the human soul than seeing the government oppress you and then WIN. China will never reach the status of the greatest country in the world until it attains democracy and gets rid of its autocratic government.

Hegemony requires for a country's value system to be accepted around the world. China will never achieve this with a government that so blatantly opresses any dissent...

Well, good thing is we can witness this. Bad thing is: alas.. how many of these protests will take place without anyone knowing it? I'm thinking of Burma..

Human rights is of no interest to the Chinese Govt. They are using the same playbook on the Uighurs as they have used on the Tibetians - extinction thru assimilation. The only difference is the terrain. Gobi desert vs. Himalayan mountains. Too bad they have no oil, or the rest of the world might pay more attention.
