NEW CURRENCY OF THE FUTURE PRESENTED TO THE G8 LEADERS

Image...
'The sample of the first “test” currency from the international project for a new virtual global currency, given the draft name, “United Future World Currency – Eurodollar”, will be presented as an exclusive gift to Heads of State and Government at the G8.'

As an innovator in various forms of mediums of exchange, I would like to hear opinions from the Current.com community regarding a global currency.

Would you support a local community currency? If so, what should its physical material be comprised of? Should it be backed by other currency, commodities, or other local initiatives (i.e.; community loans) to support and encourage local commerce?

I appreciate any and all input.

I support the creation of local currencies backed by community or locale-specific initiatives. Banks could be sites of exchange, i.e. local currencies into dollars and other international currencies. We Americans can maintain our dollar backed broader enconomy and use local currencies as community money. I believe most people would view their communities as "too big to fail" and thus manage that money well.

lets ask the important questions...who controls this world currency? Sounds like Zietgiest in progress to me.

AmericanS. -I prefer to focus on what we can control, such as patronizing locally owned establishments, participating in efforts to prosper my local communities, as well as making them aware of alternatives to fiat currency.

My guess is that there are a lot of people on this site that never pass an opportunity to complain about corporatism, crony-capitalism, and the violation of individual rights by the government, yet still shop at the chain stores and franchise restaurants, voluntarily fill out their children's birth certificates for the government and apply for SSN for them as well (neither is mandated by law). To me this is just a more educated version of finger pointing.

I use to complain about these things as well, but until the people are offered a viable alternative they won't be able to find a way to participate in a reasonable solution that provides them a sense of community. Simply shocking people with the truth of money creation, greedy international bankers, etc., and then screaming at them to wake up is plain silly. Wake up and do what? That is the real question. Answer that and perhaps people will start to consider taking action.

I encourage you to use your energy in collaborating with others to find solutions for your community.
