SIX people have died in horrific crashes on Tasmania's roads in the worst one-day toll in 20 years.
A head-on crash at Campbell Town, in central Tasmania, killed three people in a Ford Telstar and one in a Holden Commodore at about 10.30am (AEST), The Mercury reported.

Two people died in a collision near South Arm, in southern Tasmania, early today.
Premier David Bartlett described the past 24 hours as "a black day for Tasmania".
