Wiimote hacked, controls 15-Ton grapple crane

Image...
There's been a whole heap of Wiimote hacks, some for surfing around Google Maps, some for controlling lawn mowers and other pretty boring household items, but never have I seen one as cool as this.

What makes this one so special? Well, by harnessing Bluetooth and Python, it controls a 15-ton grapple, which according to the article are "impressive, elegant pieces of machinery."

Thinking back to when i had a Wii and remembering how jerky the response of the controller can be i'm just a little bit worried about his.

I can just imagine the crane going mental and swinging round and round when the Python script crashes :)

When you think about it, it's not that much stranger than using one mouse to control all the applications on your computer.
