I think it's my sister says,"every good deed shall not go unpunished". So Balwin left the homeless guy live on his property, at least he was actually trying to help, not just verbalizing the need for help.
Unless they can prove Baldwin actually knew the guy was selling and encouraged him he's not involved.-
