A True American Hero Dies, No Media Coverage!

Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman, died last Wednesday ~ Shame on the American Media!
You're an 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded, and dying in the
jungle in the Ia Drang Valley , 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam. Your
infantry unit is outnumbered 8 - 1, and the enemy fire is so intense,
from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has
ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in. You're lying there,
listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you're not getting
out. Your family is half-way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and
you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you
know this is the day.

Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of a
helicopter, and you look up to see an un-armed Huey, but it doesn't
seem real, because no Medi-Vac markings are on it. Ed Freeman is
coming for you. He's not Medi-Vac, so it's not his job, but he's flying his
Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered
not to come. He's coming anyway. And he drops it in, and sits there in
the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board. Then he flies
you up and out through the gunfire, to the Doctors and Nurses.

And, he kept coming back... 13 more times. And took about 30 of you
and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman, died last Wednesday at the
age of 80, in Boise, ID.

May God rest his soul.

I bet you didn't hear about this hero's passing.

No, nobody heard. All you can see on television is the child molesting freak's memorial circus. RIP Ed, go with God.

your right his deeds were heroic, but we all know the media isn't going to cover the death of every MOH recipient since their are hundreds. They have their own special place in American history and no amount of media cover..or lack their of will change that.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman never wrote a song you could dance to.

Don't forget, see, that he was one of the "baby killers" the liberals in the media love to hate.

this country's values have gone to SHIT.

Ed Freeman, who, I believe was portrayed by Greg Kinnear in "We Were Soldiers Once...and Young." was a MOH recipient who chose not to advertise himself- unlike Audie Murphy. As a veteran, I know a bit about Ed Freeman. There was literally no coverage about his death. Listen to any of the young contributors, whose teenage/young adult angst makes them identify themselves as atheists. These kids would never lift a finger to defend their country. Ed did it because he felt it was his job- he wasn't looking for accolades. When our returning veterans from iraq are referred to as terrorists by a high level member of our esteemed government, you know our country is run by people who don't deserve to be in positions of leadership- the hippies of the 60's who spit upon guys like Ed when they returned home from Vietnam. God Bless You, Ed. I salute you. Go in peace, my friend.

    Rest in peace Ed Freeman!
May your family continue to be proud of what you did for all Americans. Amen.

There was so much interest in Michael Jackson that I guess the media had no time to remember the name "Ed Freeman" with love, honor and respect.
    Too bad!
    He is a real hero.
I am so proud that our country has brought up people like Ed.

    Almost no coverage at for

Ed,nickname "Too Tall", was 6'4", fought in WWII and was a Msgt Korea-Battle of Pork Chop Hill ,then was commissioned.
    In the movie,
Capt.Ed W."Too Tall" Freeman , was portrayed by Mark McCracken.
Capt.Freeman was a wing man for Major Bruce Crandall who also received the MOH,Battle of Ia Drang .
He was given the Distinguished Flying Cross at first, because his nomination for MOH was over the 2 yr.deadline for acceptance. When they lifted the 2 yrs.in 1995,his nomination for MOH went forward
It took until 2001 for him to get the MOH.

I remember as though it were yesterday, when the First Boots Hit The Ground,Nov.14 1965,Battle of Ia Drang .
I had enlisted and had been sworn in on Nov.10,1965 and at the barracks the Battle of Ia Drang was felt all over the base.As was many of the Battles were, one being TET 1968.Right after Sept.1968,
myself and a brother vet.came home on leave for Thanksgiving 1968,we were in uniform , got off the plane in Bos.and three young girls approached us and spat in our face,we wiped it off and just kept on walking toward the luggage area.I later found out there were many of them awaiting the arrival of GI's in order to do the same.

    RIP "Too Tall"

The media goes with whatever will get them the most ratings.

    It sucks.

Well, I see the usual cast of my brothers here mostly, saluting a great American. I join you - these are the people who were once the backbone of this great nation. Instead, the one who was born as a cute black boy and died as an ugly white woman steals all the media attention.
The left hates this country. To them, these soldiers kill millions of innocents. What a fucking confused dumb-ass bunch. Well, I'll shut up and get off my soap box this once - and observe a minute of silence - for a true American hero has passed...

"Gordy", I choose to be in this cast. Luckily, my lottery number was 299, and neither me nor my younger brother were called to service. My Mother cried during the pulling of Lottery numbers. I did not go to Vietnam, however, these men have my greatest respect, for their service to America, and for their courage in facing the disrespect when coming home. Every Liberal Hippie child of the 60's should kneel in shame for their behavior toward these boys/men. These boys were drafted, not volunteers, yet every dope smoking peacenik in the U.S. chose to spit on their sacrifice! One draftee's life is worth 100 dope smoking hippie freaks, cowering behind the flag. I do not agree with the war in Vietnam, however, I despise, the cowards that betrayed their brothers. Jane Fonda is at the top of my list of traitors!!
