William Shatner Turns Palin's Speech Into Beat Poetry

Is Sarah Palin secretly a beat poet? Do her words make little to no sense because she is so immersed in language and lyrics that she operates on a plane we cannot grasp? We sincerely doubt it, but that was the implication last night as William Shatner appeared on the "Tonight Show" and read Sarah's resignation speech in his typical Shatner way, with all the lilting and soft drum beats we've come to expect. It was quite magical.

If he can do it with Mr. Tambourine Man and Rocket Man then he can make poetry with anything.

The thing is with her speech it actually makes more sense when Shatner does it.

I guess Palin needs a lot more stage training to pull it off like it should sound and only has enough talent for soap opera drama

Capt. Kirk is a poet. Wish Scotty would beam her up.

It does make more sense that way. I have to admit that I dont think she intended it that way. I dont understand how people can defend it...it just doesnt make any sense.
