Page-turning Pensioner Borrows 25,000th Book from Library
Louise Brown, 91, is about to borrow her 25,000th library book and has never been fined for a late return.
Welsh-born Louise reads at least a dozen books a week, sticking to the large-print editions, as she's partially sighted.
Staff at the Stranraer Library in Dumfries and Galloway reckon Louise could earn herself a place in the record books and have asked other libraries to contact them if they know of someone who's borrowed more books.
Louise said: 'My parents were great readers and I've always loved books. I started reading when I was five and have never stopped. I like anything I can get my hands on.'
