Conservative Legend Winston Churchill founded Socialized Medicine in UK
Yet by the standards of the present moment, as these same conservatives mobilize against health care reform to “stop socialism,” that same great man was actually a raving Bolshevik. For among his most enduring legacies was the founding and sustenance of the system that became the National Health Service. Arguably as much as any other British politician, it was Churchill who established “socialized medicine.”

We must as a nation recognize the history of health care if we are going to advance as a society.

The God given inalienable human rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is well regognized.
But put those principles to the test by implementing a system to guarantee it, and the sky becomes full of flak.
Capitalism is inconsistent with Liberty. -
This man switched parties 3 times from conservative to the liberal party and then back to the conservative party so lets not call this man a conservative. He is an independent?

Churchill was a dyed-in the wool, stick up his ass, war-mongering Conservative. Check your history. He kept his country from folding under the pressure of the Nazi war machine with an iron will. He was no "flip-flopper" in the Rovian sense of the word. He was the mold that Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld and the Neo-Cons were cast in. **With one GIANT distiction** He actually did the things he said he would do. He loved his country.

I have to agree with banshseewail... He may have switched parties for political gain, but he was always a conservative.
