Ms. McMahon Wants to Bodyslam Christopher Dodd, Right Out of Office!
There may be no body slams or death grips. But the race for United States Senate in Connecticut just got a little more interesting.
Linda E. McMahon, who has presided over the sprawling World Wrestling Entertainment empire as its chief executive, announced on Wednesday that she was seeking the Republican Party nomination to challenge Senator Christopher J. Dodd next year.
Ms. McMahon, a Greenwich resident who is also a member of the state’s Board of Education, released a statement on Wednesday arguing that ”Washington is out of control” and that Mr. Dodd “has lost his way and our trust” after nearly 30 years in office.
“I can’t sit by on the sidelines anymore knowing that I have both the experience and the strength to stand up to special interests and bring badly needed change to Washington," said Ms. McMahon, who also announced on Wednesday that she was leaving her position at the wrestling federation to focus on the Senate race.
Her husband is Vincent K. McMahon, the flamboyant chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment who is best known as a ring announcer. In 2000, he was listed among Forbes magazine’s 400 richest Americans. The company is worth more than $1 billion.

Anybody but Dodd. He has enriched himself at the public trough for far too long. Look into the real estate deals, particularly the place in Ireland. He took much money from Countrywide, AIG, Freddie, and Fannie.
Dirty as the day is long.
