CNN is facing pressure on a number of fronts to drop Lou Dobbs from their roster of on-air talent, a move that would force millions of Americans seeking out news about the conspiracy to spread leprosy throughout America via illegal Mexican immigrants to turn instead to the guy who lives under the bridge by the old tire factory.Leading the way in this effort are a coalition of organizations united under the "Drop Dobbs" banner, including Media Matters for America, the National Council of La Raza, the National Hispanic Media Coalition, the New Democrat Network, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Writing for Media Matters' County Fair blog, John V. Santore sums up their beef:
For years, Lou Dobbs has been one of the most dangerous hosts on cable news. He benefits enormously from the legitimacy of the CNN brand, which provides him with an unparalleled platform from which to mainstream the hate speech and racially charged conspiracy theories normally relegated to Fox News and other conservative news outlets. Dobbs calls himself an "advocacy journalist," but he doesn't even live up to that ambiguous standard. Good journalism enhances the discussion of serious topics, but Dobbs helps to undermine and debase that discussion, routinely infusing it with misinformation and fear. And when it comes to issues like immigration, he has more in common with birther Orly Taitz than with Anderson Cooper.

There is one thing certain, While the USA continues to forge a trail into Eurasia and the loss of American troops continue to fall History will show that these Moslem Guerillas will never give up their fight. The British lost thousands of young men in their efforts to occupy just Afghanistan frpm 1839 to 1947. And you will never hear the mainstream media reporting on the loss of life and the losing war and the cost it is coosting the USA in credit and debt. The USA is spending the dirty air from every promissory note that they are depositing with the Federal Reserve Bank. The USA is so far in Debt it will never recover from this kind of a debt in a thousand years, simply becaust the interest has compounded so fast that the figures are incalculable. The Federal Reserve Bank has broke the USA and the whole world owns a piece of the USA and the American people have been sold out by their own stupidity. And if China or the world should unite and declare immediate payment the International brokers may just evict all of us, or start another bigger and better war, this time on American Soil. Lou Dobbs is not the Problem with this country, its the FCC and all other government agencies failing to rule by the US Constitution. As for Lou Dobbs Conspiracy theories I suggest you listen to some of the latest videos and press releases from London, The BBC and "You Tube" and listen to Mr Brown from the UK talk about how Globalization is moving along on schedule and how this world depression has made it so easy. You just may also look at some of Henry Kissingers comments of how he likes Obama because he has the same ambitions for globalization. These are not conspiracies unless Kissinger and Brown are prone to just dream about this and I hardly think they are dreaming. And I remember that Obama's wife made the comment just before the election that she supported her husbands ambitions for a Global World.

I don't watch any of these characters, other than for the occasional brief laugh (followed by real deep sadness)... I will give Lou some credit he isn't the biggest hate monger out there, in fact side by side with the fox people he's a saint.
And I wouldn't say let's get rid of those we don't agree with, though I have a problem with all T.V. media (minus Jon Stewart and the occasional Colbert)....
It's too slanted, one sided, biased...
Don't call it news when it's clearly entertainment, that's been marketed to a key right or left demographic. Turn on Beck (I have), in 10 minutes of a psychotic rant, you get a minute of (partial) news that's totally slanted. It's supposed to be a news show, not a Jackass has an opinion hour... And that is what you get with almost all of them, in comparison Lou is nice. That doesn't take away from the fact his views are slanted, and even Jon Stewart called him out for for being full of shit (I wish I had the video link)....
You have to watch all the networks to get a good picture of the situations... And that's if you care to sort through all the crap...
Hey if you want to watch some "personality" deliver you slanted news go ahead. But these shows are supposed to be about factual news, not egos, or whichever wingnut agenda...

Great point, spacemikey. I think it is a common failing amongst a majority of Americans that they rely on one source for their news not only about the nation, but the world. And honestly, I do not feel it is enough to just various channels. Reading, whether it be on the web, or various periodicals can be a much more effective way of getting a more rounded perspective.

Hm, well, CNNs news standards have been declining for awhile now, so the loss of Dobbs, if that happens, really won't amount to much in attempting to restore journalistic credibility. If you want to do something interesting, compare the front pages of cnn.com to bbc.co.uk from time to time. The differences are quite telling.

It's hard to describe American (US) tv news without insulting the developmentally disabled. They report for a solid week every miniscule detail about a plane crash in the hudson, where nobody died or was even seriously injured. All the while, Israel is churning away warring against it's host "palestine" throwing white phosphorus on random neighborhoods, bombing places they told palestinian people to go for safety etc etc. But the fat dumb and happy americans all sit here and koo and say what a hero a jackass pilot who crashed into a flock of birds and the hudson river is.

Ragan I think everyone that 'picks' on Lou Dobbs and Glenn Beck would enjoy doing the same with the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity and, that queen of sleaze, Coulter. I've seen many stories relating to getting rid of all of them (although I'm pretty sure Coulter is a vampire, so we must tread carefully).
The rest of the post seems to hinge on the fact that Muslims are taking over. I'm going back to re-read how we got from Dobbs to an Islamic takeover...

Everybody is picking on Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs. Why? I don't hear or read about any of these organizations calling for Rush Limburg and Sean Hannity's removal from the air. Rush, Sean, Ann Coulter are busy stirring hate and name labeling like liberal. Their messages are directed at splitting and infusing hatred and possible civil riots or even one day another civil war among the American people. There are Christians and political activists who could be pushed over the line. Just remember what Lou Dobbs has been talking about and listen well. Everything is not what it seems. In America where the majority rules, the majority is silenced. The leaders do as they want inspite of the Desires of the Majority. Racism is blamed for most of the nations problems where in fact racism is kept alive because neither wants the other to become a majority, but after all of these years Islam has entered on the scene. Muslems have been in the states for at least one hundred years and they were silent, but that was then. Now our Government wants Americans to accept them as equals yet their religion, like zionism, and the Christian doctrine would all shed a lot of blood to become the majority leaders and the birthrate in many of our cities have already left white Europeans the minority. Some here and in England demand their own republic and soon their own Caliphate. Read history and learn how Turks and Muslems conquered Orthodox Byzantium by slaughtering enmasse. This world history is a bloody, violent and vicious tale of Human catastrophic sllaughter and destruction. And it is just as violent today as in the ancient past. Human brains are not now and never will be for another million years civil and intelligent and humane. We are still vicious animals not humans. And Lou Dobbs has nothing to do with this state of existence. After reading Zbigniew Brzezinski's book "the Grand Chessboard" and how the USA is planning to make a play for the primary control of Eurasia. In order to make our entry into Eurasia it will be necessary to accept Muslems and ISlam as Friends. We should allow them to move to America becasue when the leave their Asian nations and come here it means that there will be fewer to contend with over there. Hence we must accept them as equals, but that is unacceptable because Islam does not accept infidels as equals. Oh what a mess is ahead of us. perhaps in another two hundred years when all of the world becomes Muslem peace will reil supreme.

Lou is the only person on CNN that's not in the pocket of the gov. Heck ever hear of Acorn? why was fox only airing Acorn for most of the time and CNN/HNN finally follwing suit after everyone is already outraged? CNN and MSNBC are the worst news sources now. When something happens in the gov they bring up something other story to distract... Everyone hates Lou because he anti illegal alien, good for you Lou. They are ILLEGAL...ohh im sorry...undocumented is the new way to say it...or migratory worker. But hey...one day I'll get heath insurance before the illegal's do....one day. (ya right)

I wonder if the Natives saw colonists as "illegals"???
Sure we have immigration issues, but there is a middle ground to the debate... That and if they weren't clearly in need they wouldn't be coming here...
Do you know why many of them come here? It's because they are trying to escape a corrupt drug fueled system that we created through prohibition; by causing the value of "illicit" drugs to go up.
No that's not the only reason but that's a big part of it.....
YOu know I love to go there;
Legalize drugs... to/and:
1) to remove the income to violent drug cartels (thereby making Mexico a safer place to live)
2) add a new taxed form of revenue to the economy...
3) give people back freedom to do with their lives as they see fit.
4) So there won't be a argument over "industrial hemp" (which had it not been for life as we know it today wouldn't be the same)
5) because drugs are still winning the "drug war"Or we can maintain an insane "drug policy" and deal with more and more migrants every year, and our national parks turning into drug cartel profit machines...
(Oh and I don't hate Lou, I like him better than a few others)
