    • ClownPuncher Russia is a CAPITALISTIC country now and its having a very difficult time economically also. But it has huge natural resources so it will probably fare well.

You did not learn in history that Russia became a Capitalistic economy? Recall Pres. Reagan, Does that make you remember.
So when you tell people to go back to commie Russia, you are telling them to go to another Capitalistic country.

    • Cali should lower buisness taxes but regulate the big ones, Crack down on the wasteful unions, Legalise weed, and legalise gay marriage. Our neighbor Nevada is whoring itself out to buisnesses right now and we should too. I've lost my previous job because my employer could no longer afford to pay me and some other employees do to Tax increases and now it's looking like that for my new job as well. Set that straight and This state can turn itself around.

    • When Some Americans learn what can be capitalized and what cannot be Capitalized, we all will do just fine!
Until then, chaos and confusion will reign the land and that will benefit the unethical capitalist.

This is about greed and the psychopath need of one to slave and violate the rights of others. As one capitalist will say: "You will be my fool or I will obligate you to be my fool." It is time to say, NO!

Unemployment is less affected by state government than it is affected by what industries are in that region. So, when California had the dot-com boom and had the LOWEST unemployment rate in the United States was that a result of who was running the government too?

    • if the feds would give back the money they robbed from legal marijuana dealers. they wouldnt have to let violent offenders out of california jails. or they could just let non-violent offenders out of jails.and go protect people on campusses so little girls dont get stuffed into walls. A world where little girls can't be hid in the backyard of a pre-convicted sex felon.when you get a call he is keeping little kids in his backyard.where the fu(k were you guys? out scaring people into narcing on people for your nazi drug war. and getting a young lady killed in one of your botched drug stings.. or beating 14 year old boys to death in juvinile boot camps.

    • I never been against Capitalism as I am not against Socialism as I am not against Communism as I am not against Cultural and Religious believes. For me they are all valid if used in the correct way for the correct situation. What I am against it is the confusion people make with all these economic and political systems. As a consequence unscrupulous leaders and CEOs use these systems to create social and economic chaos thus taking unfair advantage of the population. Capitalism is great for certain things as budgeting projects, distribution of products, establishing prices etc.

But Capitalism alone is not the right system when comes to deal with human life and there is where the confusion and chaos starts.

On the contrary of our US Government and CEOs I am not laughing from your confusion. I am patiently trying to explain this to you so you will learn and stop these Pirates and Killers from taking advantage of your misinformation because lack of proper education can ruin an entire society.

You state is on its second term of a REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR. LOL

You guys suffer from beliefism, and that means that if you say you believe it, then its true. No matter what the evidence.

I sincerely hope you operate on that level in all aspects of y our life because natural selection will take care of you.

    • Also, our governor is trying to slash healthcare jobs and workplace benefits instead of taxing big corporations more. That should help!

My step-dad's friend from Mexico, working on a visa, has decided to leave California and GO BACK to Mexico because he said he'll make more money there because there are no jobs here.

Yea it's some where 20 to 30 % .. But I know alot of folks that are drawing unemployment. But working under the table at the same time. so if they are doing it here I'm willing to bet others are doing it to. There are jobs out there for those that want to work they may not pay that good but a job is a job. Some times you must lower your standards to survive.

So hammywill I guess that you would rather sit on your dead ass and wait on a hand out from the goverment. I have had to do every thing from clean Horse stalls to dock an pier work to head shrimp in the middle of a hurracane on the back deck of a shrimp boat. There are those that do what it takes to survive and then there are those that sit around and Bitch about things Which are you?

I never said I was sitting on my ass waiting for a government handout. I simply stated that a job is not a job. Which is true. To make that statement is silly and either ignorant or mean spirited.

Secondly welfare and social networks Are not simply handouts. Again, that statement is made in ignorance or greed.

    • I used to live in the Bay Area and had to relocate to AZ because of the lower cost of living. But let me tell you, it is no easier to find a job here. Luckily I work from home so all I needed was a lower cost of living.

    • Gee, wonder if the 'under the table, send my money back home' employees have at least some of the jobs unemployed Californians might actually want now that they see unemployment doesn't pay the bills after your benefits run out?!

Why of corse they do. They live on what they make they do not live on credit cards. they work and save there money. They eat beans and rice and grow what they can. they also Work doing what no one else wants to do. Just because they are still working does not mean that they are in the wrong it just means that they did what it takes to keep there job. Do you think that you would want a job cutting grass if so start a lawn care company. I like to hear people say they took our jobs just what were you doing to lose your job. unless you were in the field of servise work you did not loose your job to some illegal. Now if you were in some office and you lost your job because the company moved it over seas then your grip is with that company not the guys mowing the grass. Why do people say they took my job when they work in an office or in a white collar job. again Just What job did you loose to the beaners????

Just commenting on the state of California's economy. I have relatives that came to this country legally to better themselves.
I'm not dissing the illegals themselves, I'm dissing the government that allows people to make it in this country on the backs of the taxpayers. So I'm dissing the government.
Hey, if someone comes to this country and uses the system they are smart! for their own benefit.
On the other hand Asians come to California legally and still prosper, ethically, morally and legally that's better the better way!
California has done a good job of screwing itself.

    • Ok I will tell what you can do. Move sell what ever you can to get some money. Then go on line and find a job in another state and move there. Remember the great depresion of the twentys or thirtys. I was not born yet so I just heard rumers of it. people back then new what to do they Moved to start over. This is what I don't under stand about People in todays world. they are to busy waiting for a hand out to help them selves.Even the natives that were here before the white man came and fucked things up for them new to move when things got rough. I guess people today have brain damage or something from eating over processed food. This is just one idea if you have one you think is better let me know. I know first hand that it is hard to move from what you know and like and it's hard to leave friends but it beats staying and starveing to death or just crying that life at fair.

      Many people are moving.

But you belittle the issue with your Oh people don;t understand as if you are so damn smart.

Everyone thinks the answers are easy until it's their ox being gored.

I live in Michigan and I have to say it is shocking to me just how many people are unemployed in my community.

There is no doubt that many people will have to move to find work if things do not turn around soon. However it is tragic that people will have to leave behind their families and friends just to survive. Meanwhile the is a small percentage of the population that is getting filthy rich off of their misery.

In other words I think it is YOU that does not understand there genius.

Well I live in south Texas and things are looking good around here. Most all the refineries are hirering. Them folks at Gulf marine is hirering. P.K.S. is hirering and those are just a few of the places that are hirering that I know of. I never said it was easy to relocate I have had to do it twice. Thats Twice I had to pack a duffle bag and walk away from all I own and hope for the best. The last time I went to west virginia from south Texas. When I left west Virginia I had a car load and a wife we kind of looked like the beverly hillbillies. so I KNOW what it takes to move away and leave family and friends. I never said it was easy or that it was for every one. However those that can should give it a try.

An unregulated Capitalistic system creates the mess the bankers and AIG gave us, but a well regulated Capitalistic system works for everyone. The reason regulations were put in after the G Depression was to prevent what the bankers did.

BTW credit Default swaps are being traded again and securitization in a careless manner by combining bad assets with good ones up the rating is happeing. If we want to keep Capitalism , we have to prevent its abuses.
The abuses can bring down the whole deck.

If Micheal Moore wanted to make money, he wouldn't do documentaries. Documentaries don't make a lot of money compared to other movies. A testament to his skill as a documentarian is that his movies are even in major theaters at all.

If he was out to make money, there would be many surer ways for a talented movie maker to do so.

      Typical Conversation With a Conservative:

Conservative: Michael Moore... I don't like him, much.
Me: Have you ever even seen a Michael Moore film?
      Conservative: No...
      Me: (confused look)

I saw the film at a free screening. I know of at least two other free screenings this week. Did you know that Moore invited people to download Sicko for free when he released it?

It costs money to make films and takes years with a crew of many people and expensive services like mixes. Like any other hard working person he deserves to charge for his work.

    • Well, I'm part of the statistic. It's interesting to read that California hasn't been hardest hit, despite what I've read in some publications. May it not take several quarters to rebound. It is expensive here.
