Though not as good as "Star Blazers", this was one kick-ass show back in the day. "Battle of the Planets" was the Americanized version of "Gatchaman", a Japanese cartoon (this is before stuff was called anime, kids), which was reported to be much more violent that the American censors would allow. Rumor had it that the robot, 7-Zark-7, was introduced to fill in all the empty spots left on the cutting floor.
