In a recent interview with punchbowlblog.com, rapper Nas (sort of) spoke on a few rumors that have been circulating concerning his name.

Amidst second-hand claims that the Queens emcee was suppose to contribute to Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 [click to read] and Raekwon’s Only Built For Cuban Linx 2 [click to read] albums, he stated, “That’s really the first I’m hearing of that.” Giving his peers props on their respective projects, Nas continued, “They have made Hip Hop serious again, and I just feel great about the whole world now because of those two albums.” However, when asked again about “Empire State of Mind” [click to listen], he responded, “What’s the next question?”

While Nas was uncooperative in answering the previous question, he did lend some insight to another rumor about being offered the Def Jam presidency, as he stated, “Yes and no.”

Clarifying his response, Nas explained, “I don’t know what’s in store in the future. I’m happy to do whatever makes sense. I would love to add on and help Hip Hop. I feel like Def Jam is a great label for Hip Hop music, but I feel like it could be doing a lot more for Hip Hop. Obviously people there have their own agendas and have their own direction, and I respect that too.”

Taking his career in its present form, he added, “At this point and time, I’m just taking it day by day. I’m not getting too caught up in that.”

    • Hey there--

We’re looking into this, and will be addressing this issue with those who are adding items to unrelated groups. Taking off tags will not affect the groups your item is in; only the moderator or group owner can remove an items from a group.

Because someone may not be aware of all the related groups, group members can add any content to groups they belong to. For example, if someone creates a fan page for a hip hop artist, they might see an interview with that artist that you added, and want to include your item in their group. In the future, if you notice that your items are being added to non-relevant groups, you can always shoot us an email at support@current.com or use the flag option to let us know, and we can investigate.

    • Thank you stephanie for your insight. Being that we are the leading music poster on current, it makes it very hard for us to go back and look at every story to see who is attaching what group names to it. How can we stop this from happening? There are alot of people and staff as well that keeps asking (and some telling) us to stop spamming or we will get banned. The reality is we are not attaching all these unwanted groups to are stories. We attach the music group and the same 5 tags to everyone of our stories (music, hiphopdx, hip hop, rap and entertainment). So what can we do about this, or are you telling me we have to go back to every story for now on and continously take out unwanted tags? If thats the case why wouldnt current only allow the poster to add groups to avoid this problem and really see who it is adding them?

    • Hey guys--

Just to clear something up here. Anyone who is a member of a group can add a story to that group, not just the original poster.

However, moderators and group owners do have the ability to remove unrelated stories from their group. If you think something is in the wrong group, you can always give the group owner or mod a heads up.

      Best,

    • im not arguing that we dont have the ability to go in and delete the groups but why should i take even more time outta my busy day (having the #1 hip hop site in the WORLD!) to delete group posts that other people are adding?? Honestly, to have a feature where anyone can add a group title to it is very stupid, b/c this is the type of thing that happens. Since your so positive that we are doing it that just shows the ignorance you have and is making me think your are racist and biased to the hip hop cutlure.

    • Its not just me, look around yourself...

But if I could edit the groups, I would, but its yours, since no one else can, because the poster can have group tags that no one else can edit, but the poster...

Your account says so, not necessarily you..Its still you, however..
