The London Evening Standard will transform itself in a free newspaper in ten days time.Its publishers confirmed this morning that from October 12 it will become one of the first quality newspapers in the world to stop charging readers – ending nearly 200 year tradition of people paying for the title.
The switch will see the paper more than double its daily circulation of around 250,000 to more than 600,000.

What about the vendors, they stand out in all weathers, with a cheeky" cheers guv'nur", or "fanks me dear",.
