How much do I want one of these? A go kart made from a shopping trolley. Genius:

"Called the LOLriokart, this creation took MIT student Charles Guan one year and $300 to build. It's powered by nickel-cadmium batteries and can reach speeds in excess of 25mph.

According to Guan's math, given its weight and motor power, the cart could have gone 45mph. That seemed a little risky, though, so he switched in a smaller motor sprocket, which cuts the rate at which the chain turns the rear axle."
