Daniel Suelo wasn't poor, a victim of bad luck, mentally ill, or even uneducated. He just decided that he wanted to have nothing to do with money. So he gave up consumer culture altogether, and for the last 9 years, he's survived by living in a cave in Utah, and dumpster diving, foraging, fishing, and occasionally hunting for food. it's hard to imagine what his experience is like from the american point of view. americans live in an over stimulated environment, with heavily sweetened drinks and high action t.v.. most americans wouldn't understand serenity, they would think it boredom. don't judge him unless you have walked a mile in his shoes.

Wow, that's kind of amazing. It takes a special person to do such a things, but I'm sure it's not mentally healthy on his part. It sounds like he lives a lonely, barbaric life....
