It's...mildly depressing.

    • I'm happy that didn't suck. You know, it might have been a joke when the idea of Toy Story 3 came out, but I remember them saying the synopsis of the story would be about how all the toys had lead, and Woody & Buzz would be sent to China to save the day. I should have known that was a joke to begin with but honestly I didn't know what other direction this story could have gone.

      Am I a dork for this thinking?

      during the Disney/Pixar feud, Pixar was threatening to go their own way. to counter, Disney exercised rights on the sequel to Toy Story, and started an company called Circle 7 to get cracking on Toy Story 3. the original plot involved Buzz Lightyear having a defect, and he was then shipped off to Taiwan for repair. the rest of the gang decides to ship themselves to Taiwan to then rescue Buzz.

      that was scrapped when the two companies made amends, and I'm glad it was. this story appears to complete an arc from the first two films -- calling on the "no toy get's left behind" theme introduced in the opening sequence in the first film, and completing the inevitable outcome hinted at in the second film.

      i'm looking forward to it.

      Hahaha.... this is a good synopsis for just about every Pixar movie.

      Can't wait to see this. Pixar made a point of not making "straight to DVD" crappy sequels, but instead focuses on story so that all their movies are of the highest quality. I hope TS3 lives up to this tradition.

    • When I first heard that there was a Toy Story 3 coming out, I was a bit peeved, thinking that this would be major overkill on a classic movie. But, this looks kinda cute. I might actually see it.
