- Just because a thing hits big numbers in it's "hay day" does not mean that it is not a passing fad.
  
  I personally sent about a billion ICQ messages back in the 90's. Who cares now? No one.
  
  I wonder how many millions of pairs of parachute pants were sold or Slap Bracelets.
  
  Numbers does NOT equal longevity. Many fads hit big numbers.
  
  In my lifetime, we will all laugh at Twitter like we do mullet hair now.

- twitter is an example of the madness of the human mind that it has become so popular. I think all social networking sites will eventually implode and people as the late adopters to wisdom suddenly realize how awful things like twitter really make them feel.

- I still don't get the hate. If used for its original narcissistic purpose, Twitter sucks, but if you use it for news, networking, spreading the Current love, and following people you admire (Neil Gaiman for me) then it can be quite useful. How did everyone find out about Balloon Boy? Twitter. Lightning fast news.

- I think No God as the #1 Trending Topic is helping quite a good deal. Pretty interesting to see that a tweet by a reverend that said "Know God, Know peace; No God, No peace" got split up by the community into "No God" and it's now the most talked about thing. The outrage from religious followers is hilarious.
