San Francisco is, indeed, a great Blues city, but it seems that someone is playing at politics here, as the best club in San Francisco proper is Biscuits & Blues, and it was the only club in S. F. of any consequence not mentioned in this video. And Yoshi's is in Oakland, not S. F. Sweet Jimmie's should also have been mentioned if Yoshi's was, as it's also in Oakland & has seen some of the biggest stars in Blues grace its stage. And I'm not sure if Mr. Marshall still has it running, but Eli's in Oakland is legendary, and is where many of the Bay Area greats got their start, including the man who is named after the Fillmore, Mr. Fillmore Slim, a very close friend of Bobbie Web. One musician interviewed mentioned that the only thing the scene needs is more clubs, yet they failed to mention 3 of the best. What gives? A personal friend is in the video. I know he's played them, as have I. The only club even close to Biscuits for class may actually be a bit newer & nicer, and that's Yoshi's, but it, also, is in Oakland, NOT San Francisco. This video should have been about the Bay Area scene if it was going to go outside of S. F. to Oakland. Videos about the Blues should never be slanted, but this one is. Sorry Bobby, but IMHO, this is disappointing & a bit sad!

inkie is right about politics. Unfortunately, for various "behind the scenes" reasons we were not allowed to mention several very important clubs, such as Biscuits and Blues, Lou's Pier 47, and Swig, to name a few. To say Biscuits and Blues is the best in S.F. is a huge statement, and you might very well be right. It pains me to this day that we couldn't include it. At least it's here in the comment section.
Now, with regards to Yoshi's not being in San Francisco, I recommend you check it out at 1330 Fillmore St., San Francisco CA. You can call them at (415)655-5600 and see who's playing (they primarily are a jazz club however many great blues artists are playing there as often as anywhere else, much like Rasselas.) We wanted to keep this pod about S.F., not the whole Bay Area. Putting together a podcast about the Blues in S.F. and keeping it under 8 minutes was difficult enough, to do the whole Bay Area is near impossible in my opinion.

I liked the pace, and in particular the candor of the musicians.

Joe & I love the blues & count on them to help us through life's downs: Josh White, Coltrane, BB King are just a few. Thanks Logan & the other 3 stooges. The photography is great so this is just the beginning of other neat films. Can tell you are enjoying it too.
Love, Joe & Sally-

Apparently you have not been to SF lately Yoshis has a club in SF I know I helped build part of it. Also you never mentioned the Boom Boom room or Lou's Blues in North Beach. Both of which have stellar blues musicians every day in fact Loues has two shows a day everyday one at 4pm and one at 7pm. The Boom boom room was owend by the late John Lee Hooker which now is owned and operated by his son John Lee Hooker jr. Please have all of your facts right before posting mindless jibberish. Long live the blues!
