The International Telecommunications Union (ITU), a body of the U.N., approved a new universal phone charger which works with any cell phones.

Apparently the universal phone charger is more energy-efficient and it is estimated that the chargers will reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions by 13.6m tonnes.
