U2 have broadcast a whole gig live on the web for fans all over the world to enjoy.About 96,000 watched the gig inside the stadium with loads more expected to have watched online on the group's U2be, sorry, YouTube page.
After welcoming "everyone watching on YouTube all over the world - seven continents," Bono went on to introduce his band and in the process sounded like a bit of a dork.
Comparing his bandmates to famous characters from Hollywood history, with drummer Larry Mullen as "James Dean" and bassist Adam Clayton was Clark Gable as Gone With The Wind's Rhett Butler, Bono then went on to introduce The Edge.
"Every horror movie needs a mad scientist, and ours is just to my right. He wants to boldly go where no guitar players have ever gone before. He's Mr Spock to us, he's The Edge to you."
Bono rounded it up by comparing himself to "Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito with a little bit of Dennis Hopper thrown in".
So... a couple of guys most people under 40 don't care about, a famously boring bloke and a strange mishmash of all sorts of different personalities, one of them being a gobby short man? Fair enough.
The entire show will be available to watch here, for those who missed it:

Bono cant be real can he? surely he's just a figment of some perverted screenwriters imagination. Nobody can be that much of a toss pot?.
