Featuring on Current: What do we look for? — [Editorial Guidelines]

It’s easy to believe that something like this is true, but it’s just not in line with reality. First, we don’t have an agenda in play when selecting stories. We routinely hang all personal biases up at the door with our coats when we come into work. True, we select stories to feature based on the criteria I listed before, but we do not actively push content down in popularity. Period.

There are typically two reasons why content appears to be pushed down:

It is voted down by the community.

It is improperly added to groups that it shouldn’t be. For example, a story about marijuana legalization added to News, Music, Movies, Green, Tech, and Comedy will commonly get removed from Music, Movies, Green, Tech, and Comedy.

SOME THINGS DESERVE THEIR OWN GROUP TOO ; LIKE CANNABIS.
you wont let it into GREEN group............the GREEN group wont allow stories about Cannabis. or even a little side note in groups lists and those are the stories that get the most hits. yall did it again this week with a headliner that only got 4 comments.not naming any names...... Marijuana is what the people want to talk about.. hell put it in the comedy section !

but i understand most of the junk i do on here is not current worthy tv quality commercial grade really want to see on tv anyway but.........i like the idea about a website where ordinary people can see other ordinary people doing what they care about......like current just needs a current unplugged or something....for the rest of us trolls................and here we are....

Cannabis needs its own damn group.,..thats why i am here. i am sick of the news being spoonfed to me. i want to know what the fuck is going on in my country, and you can look at any poll you want to. Cannabis Reform is Big News Right Now.

Perhaps you could then explain the criteria for picking a story to air on TV. Because from some I have seen, they don't all meet your editorial criteria. That is if you decide to respond. My questions are usually ignored here.

Maybe if you asked politely and without the scathing hissing you'd get an answer.

Explore popular groups or start one of your own

thats what current says ^.....but the squirrel group has 7 people in it (i am one)
but many "POPULAR GROUPS" ARE CANNABIS RELATED AND THEY get no GROUP Listings.
again ; why dont you just have a top 100 most joined groups list.. thats the only way to be fair. untill that happens or we can see the stats on what story is getting voted on more we dont have any idea of whats going on behind the scenes.....and it sucks cuz some people spend alot of time on here putting on stories..... i see how many people comment on which stories that are on here. should i be lead to believe that something with 100 comments on it somehow miraculously gets less votes everytime than some stuff you just keep on the frontpage for whatever reason. ?
for days on end while everybody else on here ignores it.?

Now you are simply baiting and trying to derail the conversation. The request which wasn't directed to you since you aren't staff here was valid and there was nothing rude about it. Just truthful. Not getting a response will simply reinforce that truth. But I will not only request again I will be more specific: Why is it that with all of the mountains of verifiable journalistic information that has been put up about Monsanto and GMOS and their relationship with this government has that not been featured on TV on Current? This is certainly not news you find in the MSM, and yet it is virtually ignored here. So again, what is the criteria for featuring a story on Current? This has the votes, it is always at the top of the group when posted, and there is interest in it. I do hope you respond about this. Thank you.

News, Music, Movies, Green, Tech, and Comedy Cannabis is intertwined into the fabric of all those groups. and its the greenest plant on the planet......oh well , guess its just me.......name on movie star who doesnt smoke pot and they arent good. name one musician who doesnt smoke pot besides nugent. comedy, hahaha dont even try to go there. how many would still be here if they only smoked pot ? lots.......and finally tech.....didnt that guy that invented "tech" smoke a little herb....yep think so! oh well its just me !

its been a long week. i feel like that coyote and that dog. JanForGore should have more airtime. The stories she shares are always informative and mostly ignored.She always has a good backstory and always answers any questions with more proof. these are things that are important to the planet really.
