Fall of the Berlin Wall - 20 years later

I actually don't remember where I was when I found out that the Berlin Wall fell twenty years ago. Strange because I have such clear memories of other 1980s landmarks like the Challenger explosion. What I do remember most clearly about the reunification of East and West Germany was from German class a few years later. Our textbooks were a few years old, still in good condition, but completely outpaced by the movement of history. Everyday there would be a new page we would read with an outdated cultural reference to a divided Germany. It was the first I'd ever really learned about East Germany - and it sounded terrible.

    0bama went to New York for a Walter Cronkite memorial,
    0bama did not go to New York for the 9/11 memorial
    0bama went to Copenhagen to lobby for the Olympics.
    0bama went to Berlin to campaign.
    0bama did not go to Berlin to commemorate a turning point in history.

    So this is hope and and change?
    Although coincidentally, Hitler was able to get the Olympics to his country.
    Here's hoping the first tool is a one and DONE president.

    Ok so what if Obama did go to Berlin for the 20th anniversary? Im sure youd say something along the lines of "we have so many problems in this country what is he doing messing around in Germany?"

    You will never be satisfied with ANYTHING Obama does. Why? Because your hatred blinds you. No Obama is no messiah. No hes not going to wave a magic wand and fix the economy and end the wars. Is he a good president? Thats yet to be seen. But he is hardly the worst president ever. That title was claimed by the dumbass from Texas.
