Microsoft cuts off Xbox gamers

if you wanna mod your machine and play pirated games then it's best to stick to the PC.

People who mod their xbox need to find something better to do like hack government records and uncover world domination plots.

I sy fair enough. I know I have no problem paying 30-50 euro for some of the great games they make, but then again, wouldn't play some of their games if they paid me

they told people this was coming months ago... whats the shock... as cadex said... do it on your damn PC... you can hook up an xbox controler to it... or a ps3 controler with a little more effort...

I heard if you get kicked off for hacking you have to buy a new console to get back on (Morgan Webb said this). That sucks! I'm totally getting a PS3 for their free network and blue-ray graphics. Whoo!

who cares, xbox live is cool but not worth the money. buy a ps3 and play for free. I have my xbox modded so what if i cant use live, i can buy new games before they come out for $20 brand new. Hooray for piracy!

Tommytrippers right. And fuck ps3s. You pay twice as much for shit thats not even much better. The Network is free that's the only advantage. But if you pirate things yourself instead of buying them for 10 bucks bootleg, youd know how flash your HDD firmware so you don't get in trouble.

I don't feel bad for those who got booted off xbox at all it's a risk you take when you mod something and then play pirated games. But the entertainment industry's response to pirating in general in my opinion is ineffective. Things like banning people won't stop people from pirating but rather make them more careful and determined. Pirating isn't something that going to go away, the industry just needs to find a way to control and limit it so they can coexist instead of just trying to eradicate it.

Also, this was a great time to cut off the modders with Modern Warfare 2 being released yesterday. The sorry bastards have to miss out on online multiplayer with that.

well, since i have pirated more then just games, i go with the ps3 because it plays the show i have downloaded onto my hard drive! AND FREE INTERNET! though xbox has really USED their machine, unlike the ps3, which all the games do not use nearly enough of the machines capabilities. all you need in video games is GTA and skate

It does suck for the people that were banned, though they were asking for it. For a heavy gamer it kind of works out. If you pirate 4 games that cost $50 each you have saved the amount you would have paid for another xbox anyways. So one will need to have two xboxs and just pay for the games they want to play on xbox live. Then pirate the other games and play them on the banned and modded xbox.

Also, PS3 sucks.
