I gathered the following to things from the above video:
1) A desire to contrast what we consider paradise with the true paradise of nature, which I would consider a trite theme in most fictional science portrayals.
2) A need for the animator/animators to show off in order to feel good about themselves.

Yes, three minutes, wasted.
