Who wants to make sure Sean Hannity doesn't get away with blantantly falsifying the news?

Then file a complaint with the FCC. I bet we can make sure that FOX news will held to better standards next time. Here's a comment from the LA times with the info:

"If you are as outraged about this as I am, I strongly encourage you to file a complaint to the FCC here:
http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

The appropriate Complaint Type is "Broadcast (TV and Radio), Cable, and Satellite Issues" and the Complaint Category is "Unauthorized, unfair, biased, illegal broadcasts" (the form states that this includes "Biased or distorted news stories by the media"). The original show aired on Fox News at 9:00 pm Eastern on November 5th 2009.

We have an avenue to correct this type of falsification and to make change we must make a complaint."

This person is absolutely right. It is one thing to sit around and talk about FOX news corrupting the value of journalism. It is another thing to shut them down when the world has seen proof of it. It is your choice, so what are you going to do about it?

    I'm in. Filed my complaint.

You know it would not hurt to follow up our complaints with phone calls to the FCC to see what they are doing about it.

I would, but I already know the answer you're going to get.

FOX news has dodged accountability questions by classifying itself as an entertainment program, and they say that frequently.

Legally, even though they purposefully blend the lines, this lets them off the hook. And that's exactly what the FCC is going to tell you.

Corporate news has been doing this for a while now, FOX especially. They argued specifically in a Florida Supreme Court that lying is protected by the first amendment.

What pisses me off,is the fact that you have people "like my 87 year old mother" that believes all the crap she sees on Faux. She even says Hannity was nice to say that it was an honest mistake.

Yup - as Fox News channel considers most of its programming "entertainment" or "commentary", they is no penalty for blatantly false or misleading information.
Now it may be that if enough people complain to the FCC, Fox may have to issue a disclaimer that the shows that appear to be news are not.
So I guess it couldn't hurt to complain...

What's the charge? I'm interested because I'll file the same complaints against all the networks involved with advancing the lies about Sarah Palin. Bring it on folks ! We can all play this game.

LOL, why the FOX news hate talk all the time? I assure you all the liberal media totally spew half truths, lies and false stories - so where's your outrage about that?

People in glass houses should not throw stones. There are a lot of glass houses here and a lot of them are in need of repair because of misplaced rants like these. Try filing complaints against the other mainstream media talking heads like Keith Oberman or Chris Mathews and then your blogging might be considered as 'Fair and Balanced". Until then keep dreaming--- we are coming to take our country back from those who think the way to socialisms is best for our country.

Glenn Beck and Fox News is the best thing to fight these bunch of New World Order commies at the White House. I'm so glad that Current TV is in deep deep deep trouble. Just look at how many people they've been firing. Oh yeah, they care a lot about their employees, whose jobs are being outsourced according to Tech Crunch. Do you know that? Who's evil now?
