Cool, in the future we will no longer need to buy cocaine, hormones, or spices. Our tap water will become an inexpensive and readily available party drug, hormone replacement, and cooking flavor.
-
Wow, this is a very informative article.
Hopefully our water purification systems are efficient enough to keep us from ingesting our waste again. -
The study samples surface water (Puget Sound), not tapwater.
Everything you can think of washes off that gigantic Walmart parking lot into every river and lake within 10 miles. While some municipal water sources include surface waters, filtration and chlorination at water treatment facilities and interactions in the natural environment likely remove most of these spices, drugs, etc.
The real question is how these things affect the environment (You know, fish and stuff), not how they taste in your tapwater.
Cool article, though. Just an exceptionally misleading title.

It all sounds like the stuff I pour down the drain in my cafe! Aside from the hormones and cocaine! :D

Will my Brita filter it out?
-
I can care less about the alleged spices and coke in the tap water, however, is it just me or do the bubbles to the left of the stream make a smilie face.
-
no one pour's cocaine down the drain, but you dispense it out your ass into the toilet since it gives you the instashits.
-
OH MAN!

They have found Pharmaceutical drugs in drinking water. The EPA has no standard test or regulations for this.
