President Obama soft on climate change? Call to action!
Unfortunately I have been hearing a different tune in the media over the past 2 days. President Obama does not plan on making any large changes during the summit and may not even attend.
This is completely unacceptable in my book and even though I am not typically the type to call for a rally, we as a nation need to make sure that over the next 22 days President Obama knows exactly how we feel about climate change.
Come on, let's stand up.
Post any planned protests' in your area and if you don't have any planned, post your interest to have one. There are only 22 days left, that is not much time. The tea partiers are already out there protesting against the summit, so we have some work to do.

Can we bombard his blackberry with messages? He pays attention to that doesn't he? I'm in total agreement with you, but unfortunately it appears the people in my neck of the woods are like many Americans... too distracted by crap TV to have the energy to get up and speak out for their planet. But I do have some plans of my own to get the message out to him.

A lot of people got off of their couches to go out and vote for President Obama, it just took a "wind of change". Just the fact that we are attempting to take action makes a difference.
Is it too late to try and organize some sort of mass protest? I'm on all these crappy political mailing lists, maybe I can use the e-mail list to start passing the word. I'm not very experienced with organizing these types of things.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated ~

Amazing that we are on a site that has a tv station with the Chairman winning a Nobel prize for his work on climate change, and yet...? But I know what you mean. I'm on many lists as well... all of them doing their own thing. The lack of cohesion bugs me as well. It's all about competition it seems, even in the "green" sector. Maybe we can pool a list of sites and then send one mail to all to see what happens. If you want my help in that, you got it.

I agree with this article, what happened to Obama's priority being climate change. i mean U.S is always dead last to do any change

Everyone interested in getting involved, check out the nonprofit organization 1sky in your area. I recently have started volunteering for them, we have written letters to our senators, held rally's, written letters to the editor. If we can get our senators to vote yes to shut down outdated coal fired power plants and switch to alternative energy such as wind and solar it will not only create thousands of jobs, but this bill passing might be able to convince Obama to attend the conference in Copenhagen. If he attends the conference and there haven't been any steps towards a greener environment in the US he will be ridiculed by other leaders. The first step is to pass this bill. I encourage everyone to call your senators office or write them a letter to vote in support of the clean energy act!
