I think it's a good idea, for one thing time saving and fuel costs driving back and forth from church.

Get used to it, it's our future, school, court and much more are in the works.

I don't think it should be understood as an alternative to actual church, but as an extension maybe. Nobody can tell me that internet communities can offer what a real, personal one does. And what would church be without community? Nothing much to me anyways...

My grandparents listened to church services over an intercom/speaker when they were not able to leave the house. It made them feel included and like they had done their Sunday duty to attend. I don't think they would have gone for this newfangled online community church, but I'm sure they would have loved to be able to both hear and see services.

Doesn't even matter anymore. They're just trying to save religion before intelligent thought devours it.

Whatever or whoever your god is, I think your church should be wherever you are!

the church has discovered the internet... odd science but science also says the earth billions of years old... a sin right??? just another way to doop people into believing some ridiculous fairy tale.

while i'm not in support of religion and such. i think it's very unnecessarily modern to bring church to the internet.

spirituality is a human thing, let's keep the human contact that comes with it.

So, as in Christian churches, yes no? Will the Catholic church fallow soon there after? And Im sure there are some religious cults..... sorry religions that are against a forum of science and won't use the internet?

Christianity is a highly adaptable religion, probably the most culturally adaptable. This is one reason for its success despite numerous attempts at extermination. This is just another example of its adaptability. The church is the people, not the brick and mortar. The real home of the church is the home.

This may become the primary way to do community--at least a beginning--to connect worldwide, exchange ideas, etc. For those of us who find that connection in Nature and not Super-Nature. . .there's always the Nature Chapel.

One more advantage is less crazy sunday drivers on the road. I mean really have you ever gotten behind one of these drivers.

You can't find that religion in your community....then how is it that it would be the right one? Shouldn't God be helping them spread? If they are isolated religions that need websites then they just might want to reach out into people's pockets for their lose change that they are not using to fuel their bad, bad cars to get to and from an actual building with actual people.

critics are right, virtual church is no replacement for being a part of a community of believers who can keep pace with you on your spiritual walk. but for those of us who needed to to process faith through intellect first, this is a nice safe way to test the waters of a church and get a feel for the kind of worship that speaks to you individually before showing up at some church where they do weird stuff.

i definitely think online church services have a place. you can check out how my church does them here: http://internetcampus.liquidchurch.com/pages/page.asp?page_id=53839

The point of church is the fellowship among those whom follow the faith. I fear the internet will omit this.

  •

Since it is online maybe an interactive version would be good for the flock.

as i mentioned, the church with its billions will not perform for nothing, so services will now be 'pay per view'. have your credit card with you at your computer.

How much closer will technology become towards religion?

  •

People will do what they feel is necessary.

  •

Why not. Sounds pretty convenient for the folks that like that sort of thing.
