There’s not a lot than can be said about hair dryers, really. A person can say with confidence that once you’ve seen one hair dryer, you’ve seen them all, so the cheaper a dryer is, the better. They aren’t very sophisticated devices either. If you have an electric fan, its highest setting could probably do a passable job of drying, so there’s nothing really noteworthy that can be said about blow drying appliances in general.

This pervasive notion is the reason why the Centrix QZone Hair Dryer is such a hard sell even from the very start. But, what it IS is Quiet and uses advanced technology to reduce or eliminate frizz and fly-away!

Granted, despite the general public’s view of all styling appliances being generic and disposable, there have been a lot of technological innovations to this 50-year-old wonder (in fact, traditional dryers have long ago become obsolete), such that you now have a choice between nano-silver, tourmaline, ionic, and ceramic (incidentally, Centrix QZone is ceramic) types.

Nevertheless, is Centrix QZone Quiet Hair Dryer’s sole claim to fame—being quiet compared to the loud and brash hair dryers people are familiar with—really that necessary?

People are by now used to hair dryers being loud the same way they’re used to moth balls having a strange scent or bleach wearing out the fabric of clothes. It’s just the way things are, there’s no particular need to change things.

Fortunately, quietness isn’t the only thing that it has going for it. For one thing, because it’s ceramic, it doesn’t produce cold spots and dries evenly and quietly at the same time.

Add that to the fact that it has a powerful blow drying engine, and you’ll soon realize that it literally cuts your drying time in half compared to conventional dryers. It’s the fact that it’s quiet, powerful, and fast that makes it truly outshine most other products available in the market.

Furthermore, even though it’s not tourmaline-based, the Centrix QZone is ionic as well, which means it stops your style from looking frizzy after drying via the reduction of positively charged particles or ions.

Furthermore, this type of combination ceramic and ionic technology is actually the type of appliance that professional hair salons use. The added bonus of it being energy efficient just emphasizes the fact that it’s levels above the unsophisticated, noisy, and damaging tools of yesteryear.

As mentioned before, there’s not a lot than can be said about hair dryers. The same cannot be said of the Centrix QZone because it represents the next evolution of styling appliances.

It has benefited from all the advances to drying technology in one sleek package, so it’s unfortunate but understandable that it costs an arm and a leg to buy. If you can afford it, it’s highly recommended. If you don’t care for all of the above features (and since they’re just fringe benefits, truth be told), stick to getting a cheap, conventional blow dryer. It gets 9.53 out of 10 stars.
