It isn't only for one group, but it is for the group that is most directly affected by institutional discrimination. I don't know if you actually watched the video or not.

I watched it. He wanted to only say homosexuals but said the rest and stumbled as he did. He had to make sure it was known it was homosexuals he was really standing up for. If it was just about all then there would be no singling out.

There is a way to be respectful and have a dissenting opinion. He did act like a little mouthy brat with his talking back. Good thing his parents MADE him apologize.

And if he is into law he should know that (and I know this one) Jehovah's Witnesses are one of the major fighters for the first Amendment. They were the first to bring such a case to the Supreme Court after 9/11.

First of all, the kid isn't talking about "special rights". He is talking about equality which contends against the Pledge of Allegiance. Justice for ALL includes straights and homosexuals alike. Secondly, homosexuality isn't a behavior. It's a belief. Although my religion doesn't believe in homosexuality, I'm not going to discriminate against people who believe in it by calling them "gay wads". And one more thing that doesn't make sense. Why would a homosexual man marry a woman if he's homosexual?

Homosexuality is my religion and I am free to practice it as I so choose. Its Christian extremists that have a chosen lifestyle to hate and to persecute those that they don't like. It has nothing to do with the Bible, stop hiding behind it as though it were some sacred document. Its just a bunch of superstitious BS.

@monicadugo, They want homosexuals to go back in the closet and get married to straight people so that they don't have to hear about homosexuality anymore. They would prefer that these people who are homosexual, commit adultery by having sex with someone else, outside of the marriage, the way it used to be, before gays asserted their rights.

So... you are saying the kid's parents should be ashamed of making their son open-minded and standing for the people was one, rather than us as a nation be divided on who we choose to marry?... or he doesn't believe in pledging allegiance to a flag which stands for a country that cannot get its head out of its ass on the issue of gay rights... good for him! at least he's taking the pledge of allegiance seriously, which is a lot more than can be said for the majority of people these days.

Yeah, when a 10 year old kid stands up for human rights, it makes the bigots seem like douches by comparison. It must be embarrassing for some of them when their hatred is contrasted with a child's compassion, and rightfully so.
