Beck's Guest List Included White Supremacists, Other Extremists

Conservative radio and television talk show host Glenn Beck has made his reputation and fortune in part by taking innocent if not strictly professional relations and turning them into major political scandals. His crusades against Obama administration advisers Patrick Gaspard and Van Jones, who has since resigned, stand out as crowning achievements of the guilt-by-association game.

What happens, however, when one looks closely at the people Beck has chosen to invite onto his show, and to whom he has lent his megaphone?

The Huffington Post took a look some of the bombastic host's past guests and found names steeped in controversy. Beck has hosted, and even occasionally praised, a renowned white supremacist, a devout southern secessionist, a defender of slavery, and a 9/11 skeptic.

On October 4, 2007, for instance, Beck had on his CNN/Headline News show Michael Hill, the founder and president of the League of the South, and Thomas Naylor, the head of the Second Vermont Republic. The conversation, which centered on dissolving the government, was at times, contentious. But Beck - for all the pushback he offered - did acknowledge that he was kind of intrigued. "Don`t get me wrong," he said. "There`s part of me that says, mm-hmm."

Obama can't be racist for his racial comments, but Beck can for his guest. By proxy. which totally was ignored via Obama's friends while the campaign was in full swing.

J_ jamer, what racist comments? and H.P. played the same game Beck did against him. He preaches guilt by vague association. They point out that if he’s going to do that then he shouldn’t live in a glass house. Makes sense to me.

So the media and the rest of the left are critical and in full out "attack mode" when reporting on Glenn Beck's guest list...but where is the media coverage when Obama refuses to release the remaining 80% of the White House guest list? Oh the hypocrisy...

Beck is a hypocrit, but who cares all the newstainment people are. You really want to know what is going on?? Watch C-span and read all the bills and legislation for yourself. Stop getting "your" opinions from other people that manipulate your fears, exploit your lack of logic while subverting truth or only telling part of the story.

" The proof is in the pudding." Glen Beck is as racist as his guest...Birds of a feather, flock together!

For those right wing ideologues here that consistently fail to see the point of an article let me explain it. If you are going to call out people in the public eye for their associations then you are fair game for the same tactics. That simple, now go beat up a homeless person or whatever you guys do when you are confused.

I can't believe anybody watches this moron, I just wish they would just get rid of him before he commits Hari Kari on the show.

Beck's guest list, or Obama's personal associations...

Why am I not surprised at which the HuffPo finds worthy of reporting?

I dislike Glenn Beck as anyone else, but I don't think we should jump on him for the people he invites on his show, we should criticize him for the incredibly stupid and disingenuous things he says.

and Obama's past associates include racist pastors, and a domestic terrorist. Your point?

Pat Buchanan has long been considered a right wing conservative homophobe, islamophobe, racist and he is a regular on MSNBC. What does that say?

Beck also had the communist party leader (Webb) on his show. I don't remember the left-wing nuts complaining about that. BHO has racists, communists, and America haters in his administration, no complaints from the left on that either.

    @samthesixth

I rarely agree with you if ever but I think Pat Buchanan is a scumbag as well. MSNBC should hang their head in shame for ever allowing that guy to stink up their airwaves.

I think people got suckered in by Pat becuase he wrote the book "Where the Right Went Wrong" and thought he had changed his ways however he is still just as bigoted as he ever was.

    To everyone else:

I agree that Beck should not be judged for who he invites on his show. He should be judged for who he agrees with and the fact of the matter is no matter how you cut it he is simply a hack that appeals to the lowest common denominator and stirs ugly emotional responses based on inflammatory opinions and opposition just to boost his ratings and make truck loads of money.

The fact that people defend him so adamantly is a really sad statement about the state of political discourse in America today.

To hell with him and everyone like him.

And yes that includes Pat Buchanan.

There are more people out there that laugh at him than the ones that follow what he rambles on about. He is jester on a ship of fools.

Beck is showing his "true colors" and "alliances" now. The facade has been revealed. Beck has become a modern day "JERRY SPRINGER".

Keep up the Beck Bashing, it worked on Dobbs, it will eventually work on Beck.

  •

    WHAT?

Dobbs quit on air....out of the blue really. His decision to go and CNN allowed him to even though he had 2 more years on his contract.

    Talk about misinformation.....good lord.

    @J_Jammer

Just for the record concerning all of the things you are so wrong about it is laughable.

First of all, this bullshit you are spewing about the lack of love and abundance of hate the liberals seem to bestow upon the world, give me a fucking break. The liberals are generally the ones who want to care for the poor as the conservatives scream get a job while preaching the importance of Jesus.

The liberals are the people who work to promote tolerance of those that are "different" while the conservatives protest against gay marriage and bitch about hate crimes laws that prevent people from beating and killing gays.

Liberals are the people who protest against war (even though they may not always be right and sometimes go to far) while conservatives are quite often chicken hawks screaming to bomb the world in the name of freedom.

So spare me the bullshit about how the liberals lack love. Jesus said turn the other cheek, but he did not say lay on the ground and let them kick the shit out of you.

As for Lou Dobbs he did not say a fucking thing about "misinformation". Lou is one of the douchebags that engages in misinformation. The entire birther bullshit is a perfect example. Orly Taitz has been flat cold busted trying to get people to lie for her in court and every single little piece of evidence the birthers hold up has been proven to be a complete and utter fraud.

So please spare me the holier than thou act becuase nobody is buying it.

As for Glenn Beck, get one thing straight when it comes to people that engage in manipulative political theater for the goal of making a buck he is the king shit of turd mountain and I have no love for men like that and could care less if they live, die or grow mushrooms in their crack. Would I laugh if someone shot and killed the man? No of course not. Would I laugh if someone stone cold knocked his teeth out of his lie hole? Well in the words of the best and the brightest of the republican party; "You betcha".
