Jon Stewart Explains To Conservative Pundits Why He Doesn't Like Sarah Palin (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart gave what seemed like his final word on Sarah Palin last night, explaining to Fox News pundits that he doesn't dislike her because she's from Alaska or because she hunts, but because "when you peel back the pretty, shooty layers of the Palin onion, there's no onion. It's just a conservative boiler plate mad lib: 'Freedom is good and taxes are--ooh I need an adjective--how about, I don't know, silly?' And the worst part it's a mad lib delivered as though it were the hard-earned wisdom of a life well lived," he explained.Stewart took exception to the accusations that Democrats don't like Palin because she's attractive and religious, but he was particularly angered by the words of Bernie Goldberg who said on Fox that liberals have "Palin Derangement Syndrome" and are driven crazy by her because she has five kids--one with Down syndrome which "liberals certainly don't allow that to happen [to them.]"

Another day, another "slarabee bashing Palin" post. Get a life, man.
Your constant bashing is immature and makes your kind look foolish.
Keep in mind, simple minds attack people, intelligent minds attack ideas. I have yet to see anyone do anything but bash Sarah Palin the person. Why the worry with her anyways, she doesn't even hold a public office? Y'all are pathetic.

The only scary thing about Sarah Palin is that anyone thinks she is remotely competent to hold any position of authority. That is truly frightening. Like the thought of Pee Wee Herman as Secretary of Defense.

The daily Show has great ratings and polls have shown that more young people get their new from the Daily Show than actual news programs which is sad, but it is more of a sad commentary on the MSM News than it is on youth or The Daily Show.
The show has been on for 13 seasons with ten of those being hosted by Jon.
He did not say anything sexist in this bit and it was not only funny it was true.

Don't ask for something and then pretend you know why you won't get it.
Sexist because he only bases what he doesn't like about Sarah Palin on what she looks like more than what she has said. And if he uses the campaign to back his thoughts, he's outdated. Anyone using Obama's words to figure out what he's doing now is also outdated and completely fooled since he lied a whole lot on the trail....as we all know now---even though some of us knew then.

To be fair, Jay, did you watch the video? He specifically said he thought her looks were her best asset. Stewart doesn't like her because she has no substance.. she's just more of the same; George Bush in a skirt.

Mentioning gender-related details does not make the statement about gender. Indeed, Sarah Palin makes a great deal of ruckus about her being a woman and mother, but that is not the main substance of her message. And when our critiques include a glancing, non-derogatory reference to her gender, it is not meant to be interpreted as the primary substance either. Particularly when people are generally highlighting(over and over) the things she does, says, and stands for.
This really shouldn't have to be set aside and illustrated...

Technically, Jon Stewart didn't bring up her looks, a couple of FOX News commentators did. Of some of the reasons why people don't like Palin, they mentioned that she is an attractive woman. Stewart is not being sexist, he is responding to such accusations. If he decides to have fun in doing so, then that's his prerogative. But by countering the pundits who say that people don't like Sarah Palin because of how she looks by saying that, no we actually like how she looks, its her policies that we don't like, Jon is not being sexist.

Why would Jon Stewart ever make a comment on a male candidate's looks? He's not exactly gay. By that criteria, a woman who makes a point that Obama is hotter than McCain, even though she thinks he is not good enough, is sexist? Hardly...

After reading the title, I wish he could have ripped more into the laundry list of irrevocable atrocities in her record, despite the fact it's off-season for candidate bashing. Especially since he was clearly communicating to an audience that borders on speaking a different language (I don't mean this in a condescending way, but one thing I've learned through Current dot com comments is that political leans come with heavy rhetorical differences that often can't be crossed), he should have done more to communicate hard-hitting facts against her record instead of speak from his liberally validated point of view.
But then again he's only an UNofficial spokesman for the somewhat disenfranchised left-leaning people of this country. I shouldn't expect so much from a comedy show sometimes. - 3 months ago
