A United Nations special investigator has accused the US government of pouring billions of dollars into rescuing banks and big business while treating a deepening homeless crisis as if it is "invisible."

    • About time someone spoke up for human beings instead of having an attitude of "devil take the hindmost" , and "it's every man for himself". The UN was begun by
      FDR to accomplish his 4 Freedoms. Freedom from hunger, from fear. Freedom to
      enjoy, free speech, Free Press, assembly and association. Et al. Must be pretty
      frightening not to have a decent home. Many of those homeless have been middle
      aged men who were draftees in the Vietnam Corporate war for profit. Kenny Motown
      was a soldier then. He was one of the lucky ones who came back whole, and not maimed or with PTSD. The irony is that the CIA, who misled President Kennedy and President Johnson, to stage the Gulf of Tonkin pretext to escalate the war were monsters. LBJ launched the domestic war on poverty. One look at all the homeless
      here in New York, and you can see what the phrase charity begins at home means.
