American Civil Liberties Union has sued a central Florida school district. The lawsuit claims the Alachua County School District violated students' rights by not allowing them to wear T-shirts with an anti-Islamic message.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida plans to file a lawsuit today in the federal court in Gainesville on behalf of families from Dove World Outreach Center whose children were not allowed to wear "Islam is of the Devil" t-shirts to area public schools.

The ACLU said while they do not support the message, the case focuses on freedom of speech.

    • WTF!! Seriously we do not need any more ridiculous attacks on Muslims stirring up s***. Didn't Fort Hood teach these bozos anything?

That and to me personally this shirt does not fit under your first amendment right to free speech--because it fits more appropriately under the ban on yelling fire in a theater doctrine given today's political climate.

Or maybe it fits under the new freedom our country seems to think is inherent in the first amendment--freedom to spew hateful, racial profiling, dumba**, stupid, and factually incorrect information while claiming to be a Republican and a Christian. And its champions are Joe Wilson-Glenn Beck--and now the ACLU.

    • Well, I side that they can do it because of their right to voice their opinions but THAT is just IGNORANT. That is just total idiocy to it's highest potential.
