Visitors to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo are coming forward with allegations that they were beaten by park security guards.

According to a CBS5 investigation, nearly a dozen arrests have been made over the last two years with altercations involving customers and security personnel.

San Francisco youth commissioner Corey Carlson took his younger brother to the park this past July 4.

"The idea was just to ride the rides, see the fireworks and head back to San Francisco," Carlson said.

But he said the guards there gave him a beating, leaving him with broken bones in his face and permanent eye damage.

"He held my head down with his left hand and was beating on the right side of my face," said Carlson.

And he's not the only one coming forward. Nationally-recognized security consultant Norman Bates reviewed the cases and saw several problems.

"It makes me really suspicious from the very beginning, you know, what's going on here," Bates said.

Bates said the guards lacked proper training and are escalating incidents, the opposite of what he said they should be doing.

But, Six Flags spokeswoman Nancy Chan said this is not true.

"In the cases that you gave me, several of them either assaulted one of our security, kicked, battery," Chan said.

Bates said the park has to take a hard look at security measures.

    • Given my experience with Six Flags, either case is equally likely.

      Rowdy morons regularly try to start fights and the place is often the site of mild gang warfare. But on the other hand private security is staffed by practically the same people and they are itching everyday for an excuse to beat the crap out of someone.
