Detectives hunting the killer of four police officers who were shot dead yesterday in a suburban US coffee shop think their suspect may have died from gunshot wounds.

Officers searching for Maurice Clemmons, a 37-year-old convicted criminal, swooped on a house in Seattle early this morning. Witnesses heard explosions, shots and glass breaking as police negotiators urged Clemmons to give himself up.

    • Case closed.
Gov. Huckabee made the best decision he could with the information received from the Dept of Parole, the judge in that particular case and the information on Clemmons at that time. If we follow the line of reasoning that Huckabee is somehow responsible for this than why not blame his parents for bringing him into this world.

    • Really folks? why all the commotion? When a cop kills a person without intent and without a cause, they suspend the cop with pay and drag the investigation for months at a time. Why are we rushing to find this guy? I can imagine we have a good dozen cops that have killed innocent people that are still employed with the police, on paid leave and are home playing playstation.

So again, why all the commotion? Lets just find this guy, taze him and send him home on paid leave for about a year.

The law should work both ways, right?

    • They will do nothing except oppress.

No one will be asking just how abused by the system a young black kid was - It will all be about the adult was a bad guy. Not too much about the way the system begets and abets states of insanity.
And nothing about how mostly white people, white cops, white parole officers, white judges, and especially those in the south but elsewhere, see and react to under-age black males who are acting out. -Throwing things and yelling obscenities while incarcerated.

How they steer such kids and what happens to those kids over time.

But if the system keeps going along, it will produce more mentally crippled and perhaps more of this.

You have just seen this play out.

    • He's just a suspect...but he better run. Guilty or not I wouldnt be surprised if they killed him. Accidentally, of course.

of corse they wouldn't want to hurt him. Thats why they have big boys in small jail cells for to do there dirty work. They can't help it if BuBBa finds him atractive

    • And we have yet another example of why dickwads like Mike Huckabee should never be allowed in power. This guy was sentenced to 95 years in jail and Mr. Huckabee basically said, nah, let's let him out and kill some people, it's better for the community.

    • Just because you know it comes with the badge doesn't make it any easier to overcome or to be prepared for when it happens.

You can plan and expect it, but that is all that it is. A thought. An ideal scenario. Perfection. You can't truly plan for reality because it is NOT perfect, you can NOT plan everything out. Life happens. Life is constantly changing. Life never stops.

      Life isn't "fair".

    • get over it?? wow....

this is a tragedy. I'm not a big fan of the police I'm even not a bigger fan of anyone losing their life undeserving. Based on what I've read it sounds like this guy was a complete nutcase and I have no idea how he could have gotten bail based on his crimes and mental health record. There are going to be several issue at question now as a result of this and how someone who was pretty well on their way to committing a crime of this nature wasn't red flagged.

      Wow, are you serious.

That's a ballsy thing to say. Yes, law enforcement officers accept risk, the public should never think this is acceptable in a civilized society. They are there to protect your uncaring ass.

      Gees!
