    • Jesus, whadda disgrace this tool is.
This dope campaigned as the man with the plan.
Nine months into his office after this has gone on since 2001 this brain donor now decides to honor the request of the officers he ignored for months?

      This is hope and change?

    • Nice to see Olbermann making some sense. Sad to see that Obama thinks that by repeating LBJ's tragedy of Vietnam, he will somehow defeat the Taliban. What an idiot.

      The Hollow Politics of Escalation

Peace, if it really arrived, would upset things. At present, arms expenditure and (military) aid to other countries are bolstering business. U.S. News and World Report, December 31, 1948

Yeah, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
      Way over yonder in Afghanistan
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.

      And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
      Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
      Next stop is Afghanistan;
      And it's five, six, seven,
      Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
      Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
      Huh!

Well, come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack your boys off to Afghanistan.
      Come on fathers, don't hesitate,
Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block
To have your boy come home in a box.

      And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for ?
      Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
      Next stop is Vietnam.
      And it's five, six, seven,
      Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
      Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

    • I just cannot seem to grasp why our leaders seem hell bent on learning the lesson that the Russians already demonstrated.

    • Also, some on Current like to box me into their left/right paradigm, so in this case I wanted to establish that the libertarian right and liberal left, Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich types respectively, can agree on big issues. Even NWO conspiracy theorists are against war. Its the fake neocon right and the socialist left that want more troops...all members of the Council on Foreign Relations btw.

    • Not much, but hopefully it can help unite people in support against the war. Olbermann also exposes Gen. McChrystal as the liar, who covered up the Pat Tillman murder and is now asking for 40,000 more troops.

      EARTH TO BONEHEAD !

Olberman, Maddow, Moyer, Maher, Stewart & Colbert are the last glimmer of articulated intelligence on da fuckin' tube & they all point to the same direction...

Your comment shows where you're coming & heading for !

ROPE A DOPE : GOP SUPPORT DOWN TO 20 %

1 in 5 US citizens think the Sun revolves around the Earth !!! http://www.rustylime.com/show_article.php?id=562

      NOW JUST FOR FUN ;)

Can you identify to what party or political wing would these people belong too ?

      AGAIN...

18% of Americans Think Sun Revovles Around Earth !!!!
      http://www.gallup.com/poll/3742/new-poll-gauges-americans-general-knowledge-leve....

For the record, the idea that the Earth revolves around the Sun was discarded in the 17th century.

Being articulate doesn't mean you're right, though you wouldn't know it from looking at our President. What the hell does 18% of Americans believing in geocentric theories have to do with anything here anyway?

Who said I was a fan of the GOP? If you look at the polls, Obama's approval ratings are getting hilariously close to that number anyway.

Not everyone who disagrees with all the lefties on TV are automatically hard-line Republicans. I'm a conservative independent. Sorry to rain on your parade.

No parade going on in America indeed, for if the will of the people had any influence on politics (apart from voting for the lesser evil every 4 years ) things would be very different from the corporate supremacist mess we are all in...

WTF is an independent conservative anyway ?

Someone who's ashamed of Cheney, Pallin, Blackwater,The Family, Pat Robertson or all of the above & Nixon too ;)

"WTF is an independent conservative anyway ?"

Conservative values do not necessarily lend an individual to claim membership of the Republican Party. I disagree with lots of Republicans on lots of things, but I also disagree with lots of Democrats on lots of things. The difference is that I'm more inclined to agree with someone who has conservative/traditional values, because that's what I have. You could also describe it as "Moderate, slight conservative bent."

Fair enough, but ya gotta admit that the...
PRIVATIZE THE PROFITS & SOCIALIZE THE COST as exercised by so-called conservatives stinks !

Us lefties, at least, can show Kucinich & Grayson as examples of our "working within the system" kinda guys, who is your "Moderate, slight conservative bender" archetype ?

Well, the trouble with having moderate views is that there's hardly ever a candidate that's going to agree with a more scattered viewpoint. I'm more liberal on some issues, and more conservative on others, so candidates rarely line up with me. In this past election, I really liked Alan Keyes, but he didn't get on the ticket in my state.

LOL Alan Keyes a moderate !!!???

Keyes filed a lawsuit on November 14, 2008 against the California Secretary of State, then-President-elect Barack Obama, then-Vice President-elect Joe Biden, and California's 55 Democratic electors,[95][96] seeking to challenge Obama's eligibility for the US Presidency. The suit requests that Obama provide documentation that he is a natural born citizen of the United States.

Following Obama's inauguration, Keyes denied he had been constitutionally inaugurated, refused to call him president, and called him an "usurper" and a "radical communist".

That's some racist bullshit right there, your little post script. All black republicans are uncle tom's? Really? God forbid a black person forms their own thoughts without submitting to what they've been told they SHOULD feel. I'm not saying conservatism is right for everyone, but it's foolish to act like any minority who is a conservative has been somehow brainwashed.

I never said Alan Keyes was a moderate, I just said that I liked him.

      LYNCHING BY LAPTOP 2
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCR6IdTQTeE

Racism is very much alive in America & most is clearly identified with hard core gun toting bible thumping repugs… tea baggers posters & rhetoric made it all too clear this summer.

Not that the whole of the nation hasn’t been racist as Randy Newman’s song plainly illustrates… Just not my fault if some blacks ignore their own history.

As for you my dear red blooded american drivel spew master, may I suggest a long hard look in the mirror ?

Good Night & Good Luck in the 21th century ;)

      All together now !

      We're rednecks, rednecks
And we don't know our ass from a hole in the ground
      We're rednecks, we're rednecks
And we're keeping the niggers down

Now your northern nigger's a Negro
You see he's got his dignity
Down here we're too ignorant to realize
That the North has set the nigger free

Yes he's free to be put in a cage
In Harlem in New York City
And he's free to be put in a cage on the South-Side of Chicago
      And the West-Side
And he's free to be put in a cage in Hough in Cleveland
And he's free to be put in a cage in East St. Louis
And he's free to be put in a cage in Fillmore in San Francisco
And he's free to be put in a cage in Roxbury in Boston
They're gatherin' 'em up from miles around
      Keepin' the niggers down

Did you even read what I wrote? YOU are the one being racist here. You think that any black person who holds conservative values is an Uncle Tom. You think black people should all be liberals. You think all white southerners are out lynching black people on the weekend. You're racist, prejudice, and ignorant as fuck.

Enjoy looking at one side of every issue for the rest of your goddamn life.

"Kid's heads are filled with so many nonfacts that when they get out of school they're totally unprepared to do anything. They can't read, they can't write, they can't think. Talk about child abuse. The school system as a whole qualifies. Go to the library and educate yourself if you've got any guts... " - Frank Zappa

May I suggest you compare notes with this historical narrative ?
I'd say 95% of Americans are totally unaware of much that is reported here...
which makes a pretty dull & brash boy indeed... again being proud of what one ignores is not the goal of a higher education ;)

MAKING THE WORLD SAFE FOR HYPOCRISY
      http://www.mtwsfh.blogspot.com/

This is what is called, in the history biz, a revisionist history. American history, at least as far as the general public knows it, is in desperate need of revision, bringing what is taught and what is said about America's past more in line with the truth.

Making the World Safe For Hypocrisy is a chronology of the largely suppressed history of the United States. It is the history that good upstanding Americans are not supposed to know.

Almost everything you read here is based on publicly available information and most historians know all about it. And yet they remain strangely silent, allowing the fantasyland, propagandized version of American history and the fatuous pseudo-patriotic nonsense spewed by politicians and the mass media to stand unchallenged.

      ANTI-AMERICAN?

Whenever anyone dares to point out the painfully obvious fact that the U.S. and its leaders have for two hundred years consistently acted in a fashion diametrically opposed to the values which America claims to represent, that person is instantly accused of being anti-American.

Am I anti-American? I don't think so. But, if believing in free speech and real democracy is anti-American, then I guess I am. If believing that a government should not lie endlessly is anti-American, then I guess I am. If believing that a government should not spy on its own citizens is anti-American, then I guess I am. If believing that a government should not kidnap, torture and murder is anti-American, then I guess I am. If believing that a government shouldn't slaughter millions of innocent people simply to further enrich the same old handful of psychopathic bastards and their offspring is anti-American, then I guess I am.

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It is simply too painful to acknowledge -- even to ourselves -- that we've been so credulous“ - Carl Sagan

"Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day" - Theodore Roosevelt, April 19, 1906

"How to get people to vote against their interests and to really think against their interests is very clever. It's the cleverest ruling class that I have ever come across in history. It's been 200 years at it. It's superb." - Gore Vidal

“It’s here that the American dream decided it liked the taste of the vomit it was chocking on. Just rolled over on its back and screamed for more drugs. it didn't die.“ - Warren Ellis
