That's because it's so much crap, it's not worth eating. Junk calories and junk food isn't just in fast food restaurants anymore -- probably 60% of supermarket shelves are full of junk. It pays to buy organic, whole foods. Real food is more expensive than the junk, factory farm stuff, but it's worth eating.

In my son's first grade class for lunch (only 3 kids had hot lunch ) Large rice crispy treat -w/snap crackle and pop on it - corn dog and small celery stick . I have seen barrels of food waisted from various eating establishments . No one should go hungry . Not in the states , at least .

A lot of people (including me the poor college kid) usually buy unhealthy foods cause that is all that they can afford. Most healthy foods cost more and spoil quicker leaving the bad(unhealthy food) the best option.
