@peoplesmovement: "Our campaign has been a huge success so far."
Yeah, in your dreams. The more you folks on the left whine and complain about Beck, the more popular he becomes. Can't you SEE this? He's bigger than Bill O'Reilley (whom you also hate). Half the population and more are listening to him and considering his views, and he has LOTS of views that are right on, and people realize this, even though you lefties are too set in your lefty ways to see it.

Help us hold the line
All major advertisers have left Beck
Help us keep them from returningOur campaign has been a huge success so far. More than 285,000 of us have stood up and 81 companies have pulled their support.
As Beck's show decreases in value, FOX will do everything possible to reverse the trend.
It's time to thank those advertisers who dropped Beck and keep them from returning, while calling on more advertisers to pull back as well.

I'm glad members of the clergy were there. Maybe now he'll realize that you can be a devout Christian and STILL be against all the hate and prejudice that today's conservatives stand for...

well here is how i look at it.
im not mad at Glenn beck for being a racist separatist that speaks out of his ass all the time.
and i cant be mad at the people that listen to him faithfully. thats what they want to hear..
the only thing you can do is to properly inform the misinformed.
and to tell this man to stop speaking his mind is to tell him that he cant use his first amendment right... we would be hypocrites.
let him speak through his ass, and you teach through your mind's knowledge.. hopefully people will listen to fact and not bullshit. but whether or not they do is totally up to them.
NOTE: i am not defending this person, im simply stating that we cant try to sensor what he says, but we can combat what he says with facts.

A campus is the perfect place for Beck to speak.

it is good to see clergy speaking out for free speech to silence beck. beck is sick and he upsets the fearful. an alternative is needed to distract his audience.

I completely agree with what the guy who speaks the most!
But, we are a land of free speech. as much as i utterly hate Beck, he has the right to shoot out his none sense. But, at the same time, I do feel he should be locked away. That man's mentally unbalanced - 4 months ago

First, a university which sells space certainly is a forum for this. It's called a rental contract. Saying Glenn Beck has no right to speak at a hall he rented is like saying you have no right to privacy in your apartment. Has your landlord recorded you having sex with your girlfriend lately?
Second, a university is supposed to be a forum of ideas. If the ideas are sound, students can embrace them into thier system of values. If they are not, the student, as a free adult citizen can decide for themselves that it is stupid and ignore it...or show that they are stupid by embracing it. It is thier right as a citizen to make an ass of themselves.
Third, let's assume for a moment that this was a public event for the students. What exactly about his ideaologies do you think have no right to be heard? I really would like to know this. And try to base it on things he's actually said, not what you've read about in some opinion piece. Use references please. If your problem is his hate speech, I would like your sources. If your problem is his political stance...what right do you have to censor it? Free speech is for everybody, not just the people you happen to agree with.

Yes they do, but what are they saying? They are saying he has no right to speak. Using your right to speak freely to decry another person thier right to speak freely is NOT exactly in the spirit of the first amendment. That is the point I was trying to make.

He's definitly entitleed to his own opinion, but a university is NO forum for someone with his type of ideologies.

A university used to be a place to exchange ideas. If it still is, then this is the perfect place for him to be.

Just a question for everybody protesting Glenn Beck. Was he invited to speak by the school at an open event, or did he pay for the use of a hall for a closed event? There is a difference between the two.
This wasn't a political speech, this wasn't by invite to speak made by the university, this event wasn't even open to the public. Beck didn't sell tickets, he didn't invite the student body in to see it, he certainly didn't force anybody to sit in the theatre against thier will. Whether you agree with what he says or not, he has the right to say it (unless the First Amendment to the Constitution isn't valid anymore) and he most certainly has the right to say whatever he wants in a private showing in a hall he rented.
It is so amusing to see a bunch of people utilizing the First Amendment in such an open and public setting to demonize somebody else for using the First Amendment in a private and closed setting. Just goes to show how the education system in America has completely turned to crap. Either that, or these protesters truly believe the Constitution only exists to protect people who think the exact same things that they do. I honestly don't know which of these options frightens me more.

Amazing how the left are always talking about "tolerance", yet they are the most intolerant of anyone when someone says something they don't like. They whine and want that person silenced. We have freedon of speech in America. Glen Beck has a right to speak, and he certainly makes some interesting and valid points. It's funny how half the population likes him. He's no more spewing hatred than those who would try to take away our freedom of speech, or monitor it to suit their own agendas.

The left is intolerant of intolerance. Also misinformation, bigotry, and ignorance. In other words, the left is intolerant of what Glen Beck and Fox News stand for.
Half of America likes him? Maybe the dumb half. Unfortunately, many Americans are uneducated and weak-willed, and thus very susceptible to the kind of crap coming out of his mouth. The really bad news? Each one of these people still gets one vote, so this is a sustainable strategy!

@ My_America What it is, is that mainstream and supporters proclaim times are changing to be all inclusive and fair-yet to allow an individual to come forward with such psychological welfare intending to cause and maintain further division amongst the population so that wars and prejudices can continue I believe is just not correct.
Not to be censored, but to be taught what he's approach is truly doing within communities and the potential of how others even less intelligently conscious may be moved to action which may even be detrimental to him/herself if not others as well. - 4 months ago

What exactly makes him evil?
Peoplesmovement - "still allowed" its called the 1st amenment. The same amendment that allows the people in the video to speak their piece.
If Beck was evil why are there so many viewers. Beck makes his points in very entertaining and sometimes 'wacky' way. He is nowhere close to evil.

evil? I don't think so. I dislike Glenn Beck as much as the next guy, and I do believe he promotes hate, but he's not evil. He has some radical views which in my mind are uninformed as well as class dividing and sometimes racist, but he isn't evil.
He's just a pundit out to make as much money as he can. Evil? No. Greedy and Hateful? Yes.
