i wanted to add a few suggestion (of missed, and upcoming), but was unable to shut off the distracting voice-over and intro...and can't get away from that 'fiesta', monogamy, etc.

Thanks everyone - I'm glad you like the list.
@WhiteNoise - Big fan of Project Censored - Actually covered the 2009 list on the Current News Blog a little while back: http://blogs.current.com/news/2009/10/01/project-censored-the-news-that-didnt-ma...
@rickm8 - cross your fingers and hope not!
@ChangeOttawaDOTORG - If you're interested in my opinion on Climategate, you can read about it on the News Blog as a part of our new series "-gates that are not -gates" http://blogs.current.com/news/2009/12/09/climategate-gates-that-are-not-gates-a-... Also Leah on Current Green did a nice long post on Lord Monkton this week that you might enjoy: http://blogs.current.com/green/2009/12/11/monckton-compares-climate-activists-to...

"at least 10% of the country was officially unemployed"
WRONG.
10% of the Labor force. The labor force is ~55% of the entire population, which means that just over 5% of THE COUNTRY, was out of work.
It's funny that no one seems to know that.

CreditFigaro:
So the 45% of the country that is not part of the labor force are all working? Or they don't count?? ...I'm confused.

CreditFigaro:
Nope, they are retired, handicapped, too young, or otherwise ineligible/incapable for work.
Have you ever heard that there is a 2 to 1 ratio of workers to retired? The retired fall out of the category of the workforce, so if they don't have a job, it isn't counted.

CreditFigaro:
I see what you're saying, but to say that 5% of the country is out of work is also misleading. I think the problem is that "out of work" or "unemployed" is a term that can only be applied to the workforce.
So the correct term would be: At least 10% of the WORKFORCE is unemployed.

Top 25 Censored Stories for 2010

The US is ruled by a white Judeo-Christian ruling class, surrounded by special interest groups with a brutal imperialist agenda to control the world through violence. It is a collection of politically and financially powerful and corporate conmen and lobbyists. Anyone who wants to climb the ladder to power and privilege must submit to its defined militarist-corporatist ideology.

Coming from the only place I get my "real news", this is definitely a good list.
I think the Tiger Woods scandal has become so big that it would qualify, especially since it will spill over into next year. - 3 months ago

Awesome. You're very articulate and chose excellent topics that matter and did not talk about pop culture news, which sucks.
I think the interesting thing to note here is that all of these stories, despite how different they are, seem to overlap in several ways. Fixing one problem could fix another, which could fix another.
