This is the first that I have heard of this, must say it makes me extremely happy. I know I am going get burned for saying this but honestly: Regardless if he was labeled a country star and was a good ole boy..to me he is punk rock, pure and simple. He lived it, he was it!

I very much look forward to hearing this final collection of Cash's songs. He was a great musician and one that I don't think will be quickly forgotten.

Oh, how I miss Johnny. But I'm a little glad that he didn't live to see what country music has become.

Well, for me no thread about Johnny Cash would be complete without the love of his life, June Carter. Jackson and Ring of Fire are popular songs, but I really like this one alot.

i usually stay away from posthumous releases just because you can never tell if what you are hearing is what the artist wanted you to hear, but with rick rubin producing it should be as solid as previous American: releases.

you can't beat the original, but even TR has said that when JC covered this it wasnt his song anymore.

Wow, no responses at all to this? Johnny Cash WAS THE MAN. I can't wait to purchase American VI. American V was one of the best albums I ever listened to. I truly miss the Man In Black.
