McCain-Lieberman – “Enemy Belligerent, Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010″

SleepDirt
Swartz for U.S. Congress: The summary of this bill does not stipulate any difference between a U.S. Citizen or non-Citizen and would ultimately provide the military to detain, without Miranda warning, for an indefinite amount of time, any person the Team deems to be a ‘belligerent’ to the State. In essence, if this bill should become law, any American citizen could be detained by military authority, for any period of time so deemed fit by the High-Value Detainee Interrogation Team.

Let me stress: “There is no distinction between U.S. persons–visa holders or citizens–and non-U.S. persons.”

Our Constitutional freedoms are in grave danger of being stripped from us, moreso now than ever. As a citizen who loves this country, we cannot and must not allow this bill to become law. I strongly urge you to contact your members of the Senate and House and tell them you do not support such a bill that would eliminate our freedoms and destroy our Constitution any further!
